Most likely the bubba uses it too. And since yo...

yes I am currently looking to purchase one of these , I like the bubba because of the open source software but am unsure of the platform/hardware and low specs, I like the Qnap TS-109 because of its greater specs but dislike what looks like a lack of openness in its software so I am anxiously waiti...

Silicone Sealant, the type used for sealing Baths and Showers may be a good idea.
Give you enough grip but will snap off if you pull hard enough.

Sometimes it's easier to ask a question to those who know more than you do than to spend hours by simply spending 5 seconds on google but instead ask someone else to do this A big difference between 5 seconds and hours boyo, he said hours not 5 seconds. You can't pick n choose bits to make his ques...

Twonky have just recently discontinued seperate binaries for NAS devices, citing the support cost.

They are focusing on Pc's and OEM fitted options to NAS's so unless Excito go with Twonky, it's about the end of the line for that option.

If Bubba is not for you then so be it. I hope you'll find what you need with another product and give your bubba to someone who does appreciate its versatility and low power consumption. I for one have never regretted my purchase for a second and have not yet foud a product that can match its perfo...

Actually I'm also in the process of replacing bubba.

same reasons, mostly performance. I just wish they had chosen 15watts not 10 and made it more powerful.

Actually thats basically a Qnap 109 which is probably what I'll get. And a lot cheaper.
You can put progs on it too and get ssh access etc.

Re: mediatomb + permissions

Also, tried latest mediatomb and playlist support for PS3. At first try, No such luck, playlist not supported I've been trying this also, I 'think' its because java or javascript is used to parse and add the playlist and I dont think bubba has this. Can anyone confirm as thats as far as I understan...

Yes, quite geeky. But I do sleep better at night after setting this up! :) I didn't elaborate any further as I got the point across, but I do broadly similar. digital stuff is more all or nothing as far as safety goes and well worth protecting properly. The bubba, as it's called a server, really ne...

Another question: I have several e-mailadresses. It works ok when receiving mail. But when I send mail using one of the other adresses, it is either not sent, or there is no copy in the 'Sent' folder. For this bit, it's not faulty, you just need to configure it in your options. I agree though, that...

I too worried about this type of issue.

I bough a cheap USB disk and backup onto it once per month.

I then keep it at a friends house.
