SOLD: 1TB Bubba 2 with WLAN Adapter
I am selling my spare 1TB Bubba 2 that has the WLAN card in it. I have replaced it with the Bubba 3 and have been running that for the last year ... The Bubba 2 has been sitting around and it is now time for it to have a new home. I'm based in the UK and I am looking for £150 (including shipping to ...

Re: Horde using deprecated function?
I ran into this bug today and then did some googleing around and came up with: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=601186 It appears it is a known Horde issue and not an Excito one ... The solution that they have is to suppress the deprecated warnings, and also the strict warnings by up...

A follow up note on my previous comment ...
You don't need to chmod /dev/dsp and /dev/mixer if you add the user to the group 'audio' in which case they can then send information to the correct device.

Re: Remote desktop to PCs behind BUBBA.
VNC is not itself encrypted, but the SSH tunnel is encrypted ... What this means is that you end up using encryption over the internet portion then using unencrypted over your lan (behind the bubba firewall)

Re: Remote desktop to PCs behind BUBBA.
Using VNC over SSH is a very good solution .. I have used this several times ... The Way I do it is as follows: Assume PC (called 'pc' in bubba hosts (or 192.168.1.3) running VNC on :0 (5800) User on Bubba of: fourwinds Bubba Name: bubba.excito.com 1, Open up an ssh tunnel including port forwarding:...

The java implementation from IBM does work on a bubba two , but is very slow.

Re: A light in the USB darkness
Cool ... Glad to see we both got it working then, would suggest others could also. I'm no audio-phile and I just stream internet radio whilst working at home so don't need high quality output.

Re: A light in the USB darkness
After looking at this, I went to Deal Extreme and found this Sound Dongle that also works: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5831 The downside is that it is a fat dongle so you either need a USB extender (male to female) to move the Sound dongle away from the Bubba Two or you dont use the ot...
