Bubba 2 crashed - how to recover files?

Hello all, I had this fine Bubba 2 server until it crashed on my a couple of years ago. Due to circumstances, I never got around to try to save the data from the disk. Now that I have a new Qnap TS-128A I thought let's hook the old bubba disk (WD Green 1TB) up the Qnap. The Qnap system sees the firs...

Help needed?

Hey guys, I've decided to help this beautiful project with whatever I can help with. Are there any pressing issues at the moment? Just let me know where you would like me to help out and I'll look into it. I'm not a guru on any subject, but more of a generalist. Hope to hear from you! Cheers, Michiel

Re: Data loss?

Hi Johannes, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I see most of my data. I'm relieved that most if not all data in the users directories is there. But, in the storage directory, I'm missing 50% or more of my data. I can't tell you exactly how much I'm missing as I don't know how much data there was before. F...

Data loss?

Hi all, I've recently had a problem with my bubba2. It wasn't accessible anymore (ssh, telnet, web admin, afp, samba) and I couldn't get it to shut down properly. After a hard reset (unplug the power cord) I couldn't get it to boot anymore. I was planning on reinstalling the system with a USB-stick,...

No emails show in email programs

Hello all, I've come across a very weird problem. When I log into my email program (Mail on Macos) or webmail (Horde) I don't see any emails in my Inbox. However, in my user dir Mail/cur there are many emails still. Any ideas how to fix this? Then another thing: after a reboot some days ago, my emai...

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2&3 software version 2.6

Sorry, I didn't really get it before, but it seems like apt-get dist-upgrade is doing the job just fine ... root@bubba:/# apt-get dist-upgrade Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Calculating upgrade... Done The following NEW packages will be insta...

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2&3 software version 2.6

Hi all,

I've got a problem with this upgrade. For a couple of hours, the web frontend keeps telling me it's installing new files: Complete. Nothing happens.

Any pointers where to find more info? Is there a possibility to upgrade manually via the CLI?

Thanks in advance,
Michiel

Re: Backup job failed: no temp space

Hmmm ... I stopped the SBS, then started moving the directory, but had to abort it as I didn't use sudo. Now SBS starts, but doesn't react to port 9000. Any ideas/pointers to where I can find the problem? xyz@xyz:~$ mkdir /home/storage/lib/ xyz@xyz:~$ mkdir /home/storage/lib/squeezeboxcenter/ xyz@xy...

Re: Backup job failed: no temp space

It seems to be my squeezeboxserver cache (/var/lib/squeezeboxcenter/cache) and in particular the artwork.db file. I've read somewhere that you can move the cache directory to the /home partition, like so: sudo mv /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache /home/storage/lib/squeezeboxcenter/cache sudo ln -s /ho...

Backup job failed: no temp space

Hi all, I've just created two backup jobs yesterday and today through the web administration. Yesterday's backup ran fine, but today the backup failed immediately with this message: Backup job BackupPictures failed Temp space has 0 available, backup needs approx 6815744. Can someone tell me which sp...

Did the default password change? I just installed this version from an Excito USB stick, but I can't log in anymore.
