Re: howto restart via ssh

@ubi

so typing the IP of b2 did not work so I did a reboot via ssh. B2 is back again, so it was not the resolver.

Hell knows.However I will run the update to close all windows and doors.

Thx.

Re: howto restart via ssh

@ubi

I also think it is the resolver. I'll test in the evening. But unless I can not see the configuration of bubba it will be tricky to set the router right.

Thx and keep you posted.

howto restart via ssh

Hi, however my home network went nuts and my internet modem router (ADSL) hung up seriously. However I solved this problem. But after that I can not reach bubba anymore via the webinterface using b2.local. Smb works so, I can get hold of my files and I can log in via ssh. For a starter I would like ...

hard disc temperature

Hi there, I am asking for your experience. I now have my B|2 for 4 years with its original 1T hard disc. I recently had a sverfailure in the office which was caused by the hard discs running over 40 °C. My B|2 hard disc allway runs at about 50 °C. So now I am a bit worried. Any experiences? LudwigVa...

Re: cron backup job

Dear all, thanks for the answers. However, my question was not included. I think I know how to use nano. And usually I log in to my B2 every week via ssh and perform rsync as su manually for different folders, which also include user folders. I want to let this be done by a script and cron. rsync pe...

cron backup job

Hi,

I want to run a script every evening by cron saving some folders in the home drive to an external drive as described in the wiki http://wiki.excito.org/wiki/index.php/B ... sing_Rsync.

Which crontab I should edit?

I would use nano for editing.

Re: COPY from backup

I will give it a try. If it not works I just will set up the server as third time. However I already have folders and files which are without user and thus can not be deleted. They belong technically to the third user I created. However after syncing the storage folder for test end tried to delete t...

Re: COPY from backup

Ok. Then I am left with resetting the user rights to all users and distribute the files as they belong to each user.

Re: COPY from backup

ok. what to do then?

I can plug the hdd to my linux computer and assign new rights. Meaning read, edit and so on for all users. Would that do?

I mean, whats the use of doing rsync for backup if I can not copy the files back?

Re: COPY from backup

ok I think

Code: Select all

rsync -rltgov
will do. I am copying with root anyway. If I sync into the users folder are the rights assigned of the users?

Re: COPY from backup

Ok, just to make it more detail. I made the backup using rsync --rav which preserves the user rights and time stamps. Now I want to copy them back to the new user directory. I am not very familiar with rsync, but it seems that he userrights are preserved also, when I copy the data back. This leads t...

Re: B2 not booting after update Bubba 2 software version 2.4

Ok, must have been the stick and/or the *.zip file. Everything ran through.

Solved (this part)
