Re: B2 upgrade to 2.5.0.2 causes readonly on my mac

Well, as I already mentioned very clearly, the only thing I did to induce this was upgrading my bubba to the latest version. My B2 came back from excito with a clean install of 2.4.0.1 after replacing a failed hard drive. Upon receiving my B2, I connected it to the power and the network, turned it o...

Re: B2 upgrade to 2.5.0.2 causes readonly on my mac

I care. Chmodding a folder to 777 to get write access that might be caused by a bug someplace else, is not a solution for me. If an excito-admin can confirm that in versions prior to 2.5.0.1 the folder had indeed permissions set to 777, then I'll chmod it, otherwise, this is still a bug that should ...

Re: B2 upgrade to 2.5.0.2 causes readonly on my mac

I shouldn't have to do that in my opinion. It worked fine running version 2.4.0.1, upgrading to 2.5.0.1 created the read-only-problem. I can connect fine as guest running Linux, so there's no need for 777-permissions on the public share.

Re: B2 upgrade to 2.5.0.2 causes readonly on my mac

This didn't fix it for me.

Were you able to connect as guest to your public share after this adjustment?

Hi, I updated to the latest version two weeks ago and the problem still exists.

Re: B2 upgrade to 2.5.0.2 causes readonly on my mac

Thank you!

Maybe important to know, in the screenshot I'm using Mountain Lion (10.8), but the problem exists on my mac mini with lion (10.7) as well.

Re: B2 upgrade to 2.5.0.2 causes readonly on my mac

In Finder you'll see "b2" on the left under "Shared". When you click on it, it automatically mounts the "Public share" on my b2 as guest. When using version 2.4.1, I was able to create new folders (it was listed under the right-click-menu) and write files under Public s...

B2 upgrade to 2.5.0.2 causes readonly on my mac

Hi, When I connect with my mac as a guest to the public share on my b2, I used to be able to read and write without any problem. Recently I did a reinstall of the 2.4.1-image and everything worked great. After upgrading to 2.5.0.2, connecting as a guest to the public share on my b2, I can only read....

Thank you, I created a spare user and now I can login with ssh.

Now I just need a solution to get AFP working again on my mac without credentials.

Re: B2 2.5.0.2 no shell access and AFP read only

Yes, I want to mount the public share on my mac by clicking on it without filling in any credentials. That's what worked with the older version. Never had to give a username or password. If I connect using on of my users, it works, but that's not what I want. In the webinterface I can edit my users,...

B2 2.5.0.2 no shell access and AFP read only

Hi, I have a B2 with 2.5.0.2. When I connect the public share in mountain lion, it mounts readonly. When I connect it with SMB on my linux, I can read & write. I tried to connect with ssh to look for solution, but there is now way of allowing shell login for any of my users with the webinterface...

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2 software version 2.4.1

Well, it keeps on flashing at 1hz, so there is a problem somewhere.
I'm leaving on holiday for two weeks tomorro, so I'll check this thread for updates when I get back.
And I'll try to analyse the log-files.
Anyway thanks for all the help and tips!

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2 software version 2.4.1

I've tried the fresh install with several USB-sticks but still can't boot my Bubba. When I look at the partitions, I see that the bubba root and the lvm2-partition are formated, but the partition for the swap remains unformated. Formatting it myself doesn't help, althought the fstab-file shows an en...

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2 software version 2.4.1

Hi,

I want to install this image on bubba two on a disk that has been used before for the bubba two. However, I want to start from scratch. How do I need to parition and format my drive?
I already sent two mails to support@excito.com the past 4 days, but without any answer.
Any help appreciated!

Re: Bubba two unreachable

@ryz: thanks for the good reply I tried two sticks, both without luck. Both gave the bubba an IP, but I couldn't reach it. I ended up removing the drive from the bubba-case breaking the reset-button in the progress because one screw wouldn't turn. Anyway, all my data is still intact en the log-files...
