Re: Problems upgrading to 2.6.0.1
Yes, got that. But I don't understand why the web updater complains and refuses to complete when I have restored the password to <nothing> Does it ask for the password if you do update from command line? Maybe it still asks for it, meaning you did not restore the DB stuff to exactly what it was?

Re: Movies freezes, smb share. harddrive problem?
Then it started to happen on SD movies and tv-shows as well. When you move stuff to/from B3 what kind of speeds you get? What are you using to watch the movies? Linux/windows/network media player?, what player? I haven't had any troubles, but if I did, I would try to isolate the problem piece by pi...

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
PLEASE do not give suggestions that you know will bring the OP into an unsecure setup. Dumping tarballs is not a good solution if you do not understand linux security models or apache configs phpmyadmin has installation instructions in the tar package. Also a mention how to secure the installation....

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
It's where the package file was supposed to put it.GodfatherB wrote:Also, a question for my understanding; where does this http://b3/phpmyadmin come from - it is not in the /home/web/ nor in the /var/www/?
I would just download a tarfile from mysqladmin homepage and unpack it where you want. (/home/web probably)

Re: My Bubba - Your Bubba
it would be nice to get more network throughput when needed if I went for an upgrade. I use my B3 for the same things, but I haven't had B2 so can't directly compare. When B3 came out, Excito stated that one of the significant improvements was higher network speed. Of course you need your other dev...

Re: Easyfind or not easyfind?
I find easyfind useful, but I don't want to get notifications to log files every 10 seconds that just tell me that my IP did not change, I know it did not change as it didn't change the last 18 months.

Re: Printer not working after upgrade
Figures. The pxlmono driver is for PCL (HP printer language). The ML-1670 is indeed not listed as a supported printer on the SpliX homepage . On the positive side: it did actually access the printer, so with raw printing enabled (see the code snippits I posted earlier) this should enable you to pri...

Re: Printer not working after upgrade
In any case, from my point of view I'd try to get Linux printing working first and be able to print a Cups test page. Tried that. Everything seems to be ok, but no page is printed. (EDIT: after resetting the driver to "Samsung ML-1640, SpliX V. 2.0.0 (grayscale, 2-sided printing)" the pri...

Re: Printer not working after upgrade
I have (still) the same error as before, i.e., Printer not working. I'm not sure if my printer is supposed to work out of the box or not, but it's the same model as Johannes bought for Excito to test earlier this year (or was it last year?) So my symptom is the same as original poster had, I see the...

Re: No writing from Mac, but from Windows
What can I do to get back MY files from the B3? You haven't given the most clear picture of what happened. but if I try to summarise what I understand. - You have at some point uploaded files to B3 as a guest (or admin?) - until recently Mac/B3 did not respect the built in access right - in near pa...

Re: Web interface freezes when i open picture folder.
Just a related question. What are the "right" permissions for /home/storage/pictures folder (and its contents) ? I have 777 at the moment. I haven't been able to view my web photo album with photos in them in like 2 years, maybe because I have changed the port to be 8080?

Please make it configurable, as my IP seldom changes, I don't need constant polling...johannes wrote:we are now re-designing this feature so that the b2/b3 regularly will poll for a WAN IP change.
