Java 7 on B3

Hi, I want to run Java 7 on my B3, by running:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-cache search openjdk
I can only find openjdk-6-jre, so my questions are basically:
1. Is Java 7 available for B3?
2. if so, how do I download it?

Regards
Richard

Re: Cat tripped my RAID-disk: RAID Array degraded

Ok thanks for the clarification. I tried to connect the disk again to verify if I had /dev/sdb1 and now everything seems to work again, I can see the disk and I have started rebuilding the array. I have no idea why it works now :) The only difference is that the disk is lying naked on a desk with ca...

Cat tripped my RAID-disk: RAID Array degraded

Hi, my setup is a b3 with an extra disk connected via cable with /home mirrored. I came home today and saw that the extra disk was on the floor (luckily it fell on a soft bag). I shutdown b3 and plugged it back in but the administration interface says "RAID Array degraded". running fdisk -...

Re: /dev/sda1 is full, what can I clean?

ah... indeed...stupid. should be postcat C80B4307E7 the postcat command will show the content of a specific queued mail, identified by the queue ID from the mailq command. Hi, sorry for being absent, the forum stopped emailing me about thread updates, here is the output from that command: usr@b3:~/...

Re: /dev/sda1 is full, what can I clean?

It seems like postfix had stopped working which is why the queue kept getting bigger. I started it again after deleting the emails and now everything works. But it seems like the whole email system is pretty messed up at the moment, I tried sending an email to myself: root@b3:/# mail -s asdf root Cc...

Re: /dev/sda1 is full, what can I clean?

my /var/log is only 13 megabytes, I think the culprit is elsewhere
I did

Code: Select all

du -h / | sort -nr | head -30
but the only large files I found were in /home which is on another disk

Re: Will setting up RAID will destroy the OS?

I don't know if it's possible to set up a disk RAID without formating the home partition, I just made a giant tarball of my entire home directory and moved it to my workstation and then moved it back when the raid was done

Re: Will setting up RAID will destroy the OS?

How big are your drives? I added a 1TB drive to the already existing 1TB drive and I think it took less than an hour to get it working

Re: What will stop working if I stop mysqld?

I just don't want to break anything that I'll not be able to fix :) but I'll give it a try. I'll report my finding soon

EDIT: it worked like a charm, accessing photos or email gives a nice and clean error page but nothing crashed. Awesome! Thanks for the help!

What will stop working if I stop mysqld?

Hi, I'd like to reduce the CPU usage on my B3 (because I've convinced myself it saves electricity). and my current biggest CPU Time process is mysqld, I know squeezebox uses it but I've stopped that but it seems like some part of the web-interface also uses it (the photo-sharing thing I think) Is it...

Re: Will setting up RAID will destroy the OS?

Sorry to bump this thread but I figured it better to ask my question here than to create a new, nearly identical question :) I know the instructions say that "all user data" will be removed, but can anyone confirm if /home (and subdirectories) is the only directory that will be emptied?, r...
