Re: How many B3's out there ?

Mine died recently, I suspect it is a hard drive failure. Currently working on replacing the hard drive, got a new one mounted, but are struggling to find a boot image.

Re: Upgrade Logitech Media Server

Sorry, but the best programmers are those who are most humble and realistic about their work - so I fully trust your advice on this :-). I will play around with the live USB and see how it behaves, and yes, you are right, there is a very easy way out if I encounter any issues. Thank you for the answ...

Upgrade Logitech Media Server

I can not find a way to upgrade the Logitech Media Server (upgrade needed to try support for the new Spotty plugin). Any way to do this on the standard B3 setup? Or is the alternative to instead use Gordons "Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (Linux 4.4.39 LTS - Gentoo stable) + revision Apr 25&q...

Re: I have been attacked and don't know why.

Thank you, Ubi, will do it right away. Will it make sense to gather all the various information from the previous posts into a brief how-to-guide on this, assuming that there will be more users discovering that they have been infected? I will be happy to take write the guide, provided that someone w...

Re: I have been attacked and don't know why.

And working further on this I used the "find -user www-data | more" to find all files belonging to www-data, and found that the /var/spool/postfix/maildrop folder contained a huge number of unsent spam mails regarding a PayPal scam, apparently. I deleted these files. I also found that ther...

Re: I have been attacked and don't know why.

Thanks to Gordon for all the valuable information (and others too). I found that I was affected as well, and have run a ps -aux, and found that I had a process running as www-data, using a lot of CPU, and I killed it. But now I am in doubt if I have done what is needed to handle the situation. I hav...

Re: Restoring backup error

I am using the GUI. I have to wait a while to get the list of restore points (the timeline), and if I click Restore, then I just get the "busy" cursor, and it stalls.

Re: Backup to other server on network

Yes, it worked when I changed the folder name from "photo" to "pictures" in the includeglob.list file - I assumed that this was the correct thing to do, rather than renaming storage/pictures to storage/photo.

Re: Backup to other server on network

Status on front page of admin says: Software version 2.5.0.2.

Can I force a re-update, or in other ways fix this myself, e.g. by renaming or updating a script or something?

Re: Backup to other server on network

As I progressed from my test backups I found out that the Photo folder is still an issue, but videos and music works fine. I just discovered this, and will look further into this. If there are known issues I would like to get some information, but otherwise I will take a first shot myself. For the t...

Re: Backup to other server on network

I have worked quite a bit on this the last couple of days, and found that my issues were due to security settings on the QNAP server, i.e. not much to do with the B3 setup. So I consider this to be a QNAP question and a FTP and SSH security settings question, rather than B3. Sorry for any inconvenie...

Backup to other server on network

I am trying to configure a backup job to place the backup on another server on my network (a QNAP 219P+), i.e. it is not connected as USB/eSata to the B3. I have configured the job to make a standard backup of photos, i.e. all content storage\pictures, and I use an SSH connection. The job completes ...
