Re: Can no longer access B3 server

Thanks Gordon, that appears to have done the trick.

My wifi, web access and network access are all working as before.

Is there any way I can offer some payment as appreciation for your help?

Re: Can no longer access B3 server

I did as you suggested and changed the Network setting to "Router - Firewall - Server". On clicking update immediately I lost the connection to the web interface and cannot get back. I can still access the server via SSH when connected to the WAN port but no longer through the web interfac...

Re: Can no longer access B3 server

I can confirm that the SSID is available, I just can't connect. The output of 'ip addr' is as follows: 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo inet6 ::1/128 scope host valid_lft forever p...

Re: Can no longer access B3 server

I've cleared the maildrop and moved the album to the storage partition. I am now using less than 3gb of the root partition. I have also discovered that if I plug my network cable from the router to WAN port in the B3 and start the server without the rescue USB, the device is picked up by my router i...

Re: Can no longer access B3 server

Hi Gordon Thanks for the suggestion, I was actually trying to follow this thread http://forum.excito.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4245 but I've had no luck. My /mnt/var/spool/postfix/maildrop/ directory is only 205.9M (857 files) and I can't run any commands to clear them as I can't access the server...

Can no longer access B3 server

A couple of weeks ago we had a power outage. Afterwards I had some issues with my modem/router when I tried to plug the network cable into my LAN port on the B3 the modem would continually reset and try to reconnect to the internet and attached devices. Thinking the issue was with the modem/router I...

Re: B3 Failing to boot

Hi Gordon I assume shutting down the B3 then switching the wall socket off and on counts as a power cycle? My backup process resulted in me not loosing any data this time so I figure I can probably continue using the drive with the same strategy. At least now I know the solution next time this happe...

Re: B3 Failing to boot

Hi Gordon Here is my LCC, pretty terrible as you suspected: # smartctl -A /dev/sda | grep "^193" 193 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0032 001 001 000 Old_age Always - 3383226 I've executed the following script I found in the tar file to increase the idle to 5 minutes: # ./wdSetIdle3To5Min.sh wdSetIdle3...

Re: B3 Failing to boot

Hi Gordon It's been a few days but I have some news. I followed the steps you mentioned (see below) but the re-install was unsuccessful again. I did notice however that some files were actually being written to the server hard drive. So I cleared the disk again, reset the b3 rescue config for a stan...

Re: B3 Failing to boot

Re: B3 Failing to boot

Hi Gordon Just want to thank you for your help and persistence on this. Is there a way I can install gdisk onto the rescue USB? When I attempt to run it I'm getting the following: # gdisk -sh: gdisk: not found I've also tried this from the gentoo live USB but can't find gdisk there either. Alternati...

Re: B3 Failing to boot

Hi Gordon Yes, I have the WAN port connected to my router and thats where I get the 10.1.1.* address. I've had some time today to investigate further. It appears I can boot and connect using both the original B3 rescue USB and the gentoo live USB I created. Turns out I had to use a newer version of ...

Re: B3 Failing to boot

Thanks for your response Gordon. Just to clear things up, when I boot from the rescue USB the LED is green. To the issue at hand, I am using putty to attempt a connection with my b3 internally within my home network (this is the application I have used previously). I have cleared the registry of all...

B3 Failing to boot

Hello forum (FYI this issue has been ongoing, I suspect that due to all the activity going on that support has taken a back seat. I am reposting this message as it appears to have been lost during the forum migration. I would really like some help as soon as possible as functioning without a server ...

Re: No functional Internet connection was found

Hi johannes

Yes, actually the message appears twice this time.

My B3 is showing version 2.5.1.2, is this the latest version?

Thanks
Jeff
