Re: Problems connecting to b3

Thanks for this suggestion. Unfortunately this goes above my Linux abilities. Thanks anyway You can also use the GUI application Etcher to write these kinds of images to a USB stick if you like. It's free, open-source and cross-platform. https://etcher.io/ http://www.linuxandubuntu.com/uploads/2/1/...

Re: Bubbagen and logitechmediaserver-bin (Solved)

johanheinesen, could you please post the install_on_sda.sh script on your system (and what you get if you run "ls -l /usr/local/sbin/install_on_sda.sh")? If it is still anything like the version on the gentoo-on-b3 image ( here ), there shouldn't be much that could cause it to fail before ...

Re: Arch Linux Live-USB for B3 updated (archlinuxarm.org kernel, shorewall migration)

Hi MouettE, there were two reasons for dropping shorewall really: With the version currently in the archlinuxarm.org tree (v5.2.0.4-1), I was getting a number of perl errors (as well as warnings) compiling my existing rule set (perl on the image is v5.28.0-1). Initially I thought this was just due t...

Arch Linux Live-USB for B3 updated (archlinuxarm.org kernel, shorewall migration)

Hello, I've just released version 1.6.0 of the live-USB image of Arch Linux for the B3 on GitHub ( here ). All included packages are up-to-date against the archlinuxarm.org tree, as of 14 September 2018. The kernel supplied on the image is 4.18.7-1-ARCH, and as before, will be updated (along with th...

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (Gentoo profile 17)

In testing, adding the ifconfig stanzas into /boot/kexec.sh (and disabling the setethermac service) seems to work fine.

Accordingly I've just posted a tweaked 2.1.1 release of the image with this incorporated.

Thanks again!

Re: Gentoo Live-USB for B3 Updated (with Weekly-Autobuild Binhost, including Kernel, Profile 17.0)

I have just posted a tweaked 2.1.1 version of the above gentoo-on-b3 image here . This incorporates Gordon's suggested fix to ensure the Ethernet adaptors do not lose their MACs during kexec bootloading. It replaces the approach used in prior versions of this image, which involved a userland service...

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (Gentoo profile 17)

Thanks Gordon - yes, without my setethermac userland service from the Arch or gentoo-on-b3 live-USBs running, that's what I'd expect to happen. Setting a spoof IP address before kexec sounds like a nice trick to workaround this though, and I should be able to add this to the kexec.sh script the kexe...

NB: the following applies to users of my gentoo-on-b3 live USB versions 2.0.1 and 2.0.0 . Users of the latest 2.1.0 release are unaffected, and need take no action. Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (Gentoo profile 17)

This second stage bootloader was in fact designed from the ground up, because Sakaki's kexec loader left my B3 (with the older U-Boot 2010.06-rc2-00064-gf41e8d8-dirty) without network. Hi Gordon - did you experience the above networking issue booting the gentoo-on-b3 image, or your own? I found tha...

Re: FreeBSD or any other still supported os on Bubba 2?

Hi - I've just released version 1.5.0 of the Gentoo live USB for the B2 - please see my post here . This bootable image has a custom (17.0-based) profile, uses a 4.9.72 LTS kernel, and has weekly-autobuild binhost backing for the installed packages (which are up-to-date against the Gentoo tree on 3 ...

Re: Gentoo live-USB for Bubba|2 updated (Linux 4.9.16 LTS)

Hello, if you are using my https://isshoni.org/b2pie binhost, please remove any mask on dev-python/cryptography and dev-python/pyopenssl (as these are now compatible with the bindist USE flag under Gentoo, with >=dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2o-r6), and also please mask dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2p (as that does...

Re: Gentoo Live-USB for B3 Updated (with Weekly-Autobuild Binhost Backing, including Kernel)

Migration of gentoo-on-b3 systems to Profile 17.0 I have just completed migrating the gentoo-on-b3 weekly autobuild host to profile 17.0 (as this has recently been stabilized for arm). As recommended , all packages have been rebuilt under the new profile, and, to avoid confusion, a new binhost has ...
