Re: umask in /etc/profile
Hello,
Helder
If anything, for correctness sake I think you should take care of this. Besides, It might not be the normal usage but there is a group of users who do not use the Excito customizations, for those users it's important. If you like to it's probably not a big issue to crank it up.

Re: umask in /etc/profile
Hello, It explains a bit. However I think it is not necessary to grant this kind of permissions. What I usually do when I have to solve similar problems is: Each user has its own group, this is the user's default; Besides this, each user will belong to one or more additional groups, for example sake...

Re: umask in /etc/profile
Thank you for your answer.
Can someone from Excito explain why we have this default?
- This is more than two years old, maybe it's fixed on newer bubbas, if that's the case disregard this question.

Re: Dead bubba
Hi Tor,
It's the disk indeed. I bought another disk and I'm going to install it today, can't wait for the disk warranty, this is a very busy bubba!
About the DMA problems, I've no wifi on the server. After the re-install I'll look into the log to see if something shows up.
Thanks,
Helder

Re: Dead bubba
Nothing loose inside my bubba... I was able to mount bubba's disk on another computer. And I'm doing a backup of everything. Dead bubba
Hi, My Bubba 2 stopped responding yesterday  . I was able to login via ssh but for instance the htop command would freeze the console, same thing with a ps aux. The load on the system was over the top (about 59.0), the system was very unresponsive. I checked vmstat and there was no activity. Si...

umask in /etc/profile
Hi, I've just noticed that on the last line of /etc/profile I have a " umask 000 ". Now, I've made extensive changes to my B2 so I would like to know if this definition came in the factory install or if it was product of one of my changes. This is a very unsafe setting, so if it's on the f...

Sorry for the late reply!
Answering your question, I've just poured glue over the plug! Not too much. Then I let it dry, and then repeated the process until it was secured. I've used universal glue, probably not the best option. I suppose it's a good idea not to use conductive glue...

Power plug protection
Hi, This is really important! ;-) Bubba may be small but it's still a server, so I think it would be important to have something to secure the power plug in place on the Bubba side (I had 238 days up time, and then, while dusting my desk -- cabumm!). My solution was to glue the power plug to Bubba, ...
