Re: b3 keeps resetting ** File not found uImage **

1) No, the flash should not touch the u-boot environment since this contains values unique to your device. I do believe that the flash image does contain defaults for at least some of the environment variables though and thus you'll likely get a better result from deleting a key then guess at its or...

Re: b3 keeps resetting ** File not found uImage **

sataroot and satadev are okay. sataboot seems incomplete to me, but that may be because you are running a custom u-boot version. Whether or not the defaults that are apparently implied (like the "uImage" file name) work out the same is impossible to judge by me. In any case, sataboot in my environme...

Re: b3 keeps resetting ** File not found uImage **

ehm... So what are the present values for "sataboot", "sataroot" and "satadev"?

Note: if dumping the full environment do anonymize the eth*, serial and key values - these values give access to your easyfind account.

Re: b3 keeps resetting ** File not found uImage **

Right. The 300GB is probably a SSD? It is a known issue that u-boot does not recognize certain types of SSD firmware which makes it impossible to boot from such a drive. I actually have such a drive in one of my B3s and to be able to use it I had to edit the u-boot environment to read the kernel fro...

Re: Arch Linux - br0 is down, or has no allocated address

Seems likely.

In your case, since the bridge is in fact rather pointless because it only has one interface, I'd simply delete the bridge and link the protocol(s) directly to eth1.

Re: b3 keeps resetting ** File not found uImage **

Your u-boot seems okay. According to the message it just fails to find the file "uImage" on the first partition of your HDD (/dev/sda1). Is this the original drive or did you swap it for something new?

Note: installer issue

Note: I have been informed that this image has an issue with the installer if the harddrive in your B3 is smaller than 2.1TB. This has been corrected in the Bubba overlay. In case you are affected by the issue you should sync your portage tree and then re-emerge sys-apps/bubba-install eix-sync emerg...

Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (version 1.12)

Hi, I've just released version 1.12 of the Bubbagen live-USB image for B3 on GitHub. This is primarily a bugfix release from version 1.11 but it also contains some vital changes to some of the portage config files: - /etc/portage/make.conf - /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords/forked-daapd - /etc/p...

Re: Got a 4Tb USB disk working on my B2, is it ok?

You are likely referring to the red flags saying you can't use a disk larger than 2TB inside the B2. This is not a hardware imposed limit though, but is caused by the bootmanager not being able to identify the disk and thus also not being able to boot the operating system. Once the real kernel is lo...

Re: Upgrading B3

Just something in the code that u-boot can spit out if it can't access your disk.

Updating u-boot does not access your disk, so no there is no danger in loosing any data.

Thanks for this suggestion. Unfortunately this goes above my Linux abilities. Thanks anyway
You run a Mac, don't you? This writing an image to a USB stick should not be any different on it. The stick must be unmounted of course ;)

Re: Problems connecting to b3

Those Live images are a bit different ;) They are in fact complete file systems and you should write them to /dev/sdX rather than /dev/sdX1. The result is that your USB stick will have three partitions: boot, swap and root.

Re: b3 easyfound not working

Horde is just for web mail and -calendar. It has no relation to fetchmail. Fetchmail config through the B3 web admin front-end seems pretty straight-forward. Don't know why it would append the local domain to whatever you entered there. Of course if you feel comfortable enough to get on the command ...
