Re: How do I extract files from "storage"?

Storage is an LVM, you need to discover and mount the volumes inside it.

Re: Easyfind command line

Original Bubba OS? It's a perl script. If I remember correctly it sits in /usr/lib/web-admin. To set and enable easyfind call it as `easyfind.pl setname [chosen name]` Unsure how to answer the remainder of your question. Yes the machine name and it's IP addresses will be in several config files. Fro...

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.0 released for B3

You're likely looking at version conflicts and search path issues. Are you still basing your installation on that .deb file? Then go to /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN and get rid of the `arch` folder. This folder contains files that will not work with the B3 and I fear that you will not be able to...

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.0 released for B3

It might, yes that is me. Problem is I can't really remember what compiler and library versions I used for creating those libs and I was recently confronted with the fact that this can cause incompatibilities. I think the Perl 5.22 and 5.24 modules were created with gcc 4.9 but the main issue would ...

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.0 released for B3

Judging by its name I'd say you got the wrong package. You need the `armel` version. If there is no such package you need the noarch version and either build the armel specific modules yourself or get them some place else.

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.0 released for B3

Ah yes, 'predictable' names if you assume one knows to which physical slot hardware is connected. You can also add an udev rule to name the wifi device what you expect it to be: SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="ath9k", NAME="wlan0" (change driver if you added some other brand/type wifi ada...

Re: Support for original Bubba OS abandoned?

Hmmm... right. Must have inherited the incorrect server name from when it was temporarily hosted on Ubi's mybubba.org and then reverted.

Support for original Bubba OS abandoned?

Looks like update.excito.org does no longer contain the (source) packages for the original Bubba OS any more.

Re: Upgrade Logitech Media Server

Ahum, well... ehhh... You can at least try. The live USB is non disruptive to your existing installation. It does not mount or write to the internal disk unless you specifically tell it to do so. If it doesn't behave to your liking simply reboot and it will be running the original Bubba OS again. Ma...

Re: B3 internal wifi interface slot

Half-size Mini PCI Express The stock card in a B3 is from Qualcomm and reports as 'Atheros AR928X'. Don't have an open unit at the moment, but I think this maps to a AR5B95 card. Of course there will be other brands (Realtek, Intel) and types that will also fit, but then there could be driver proble...

Good job!

Wonder if this is restricted to the B3. Hardly seems possible that other systems would not be affected by this issue as well.

Re: dhclient.conf Vendor Class Identifier (option 60)

Yes. For home phone you would still need to use the ISP provided router. Could still be beneficial though to place it behind a VLAN splitter as this will put you in control of what signals can come in or go out of that router. As it happens my ISP provided me a router with a backdoor and I'm quite c...
