Re: Upgrade from RAID-enabled squeeze to stretch

Correct. The first partition on the disk (where `/boot/uImage` has to reside) has to be either FAT, ext2 or ext3 formatted. That doesn't mean you can't use ext4 for root though, it just means you need to move root to a different partition. Might want to note that 10G is probably a bit tiny for moder...

Re: Any B3's for sale in Europe?

~35 euros doesn't sound that bad to me and given the base price customs should leave it alone as well. Also, I just checked what postage would cost me for Poland and that rates at 18.50 euros and I wouldn't want to sell my spare unit for a price that this would make it worth while to you. I'm actual...

Re: z-stick aeotec gen5 cant get it working....

You may like to try create a symlink named `ttyUSB868` (or whatever number you see fit) towards the ttyACM0 device. Chances are that the software ignores it because of the `wrong` naming.

Re: Fuse in B3 power supply

Nope. However, as the PSU is rated 3A @ 12v we know that the primary side must be able to draw a minimum of 36 Watts as well. Here's the tricky part: because the PSU works with both 115 Volt and 230 Volt it should be able to function with a 160mA fuse in Europe but it needs to be 320 mA in USA. Allo...

Re: Bubbagen Live-USB for B3 updated (Linux 4.9.49-r1 LTS - Gentoo stable)

Do you run a B3 Wifi? Minidlna service is restricted to eth1 by default and I think this may not be updated by the frontend if you turn on Wifi and the LAN interface becomes br0.

To fix this edit /etc/minidlna.conf and change the network interface to serve on line #5. Save and restart minidlna.

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (Linux 4.4.39 LTS - Gentoo stable) + revision Apr 25

Cause found! Truly sorry about that. It appears that the DHCP config file got truncated somehow and the B3 is actually not getting the address it should get which causes DNS not to work. I've updated the image on GitHub, but if you can access the B3 from the WAN side you can simply apply the require...

Hold on. I'll verify. We're probably looking at a combination of issues here. What operating system are you running on your laptop?

You probably try to connect through the WAN port, which puts you on the wrong side of the internal firewall because the live-USB defaults to server-router mode. Use the LAN port instead.

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (Linux 4.4.39 LTS - Gentoo stable) + revision Apr 25

I fear the error may be on my side, having run one cleanup action too many and thereby removing the bubba-install package in the distributed image. You may like to note that I have a new release that is more up to date (Jan 10, 2018) and addresses several issues that were in the 1.9.x releases. Gordon

bubbagen systemd users: please update your USE flags

As of 2018-01-23 systemd has the sysv-utils USE flag enabled by default. This enables installation of several commands that are provided by sysvinit, including halt and poweroff that require a special routine to result in the expected behaviour on the B3. I therefore advise the following command to ...

[gentoo|bubbagen] note for bubba-overlay users

I'm currently working on some long overdue updates to how the old Excito applications are represented in the Gentoo bubba overlay. While I try to keep the transition as smooth as possible, some users may experience hick-ups during world updates. Since I'm not dropping any functionality these should ...

Re: Gentoo Profile Change from 13 to 17

Ah! I see. Well, I haven't looked at genup much lately, but I don't think it will automatically switch profiles for you. I'm fairly certain that Sakaki is aware of the situation though and she may push an update to genup that will try to match your current selected profile to its version 17 equivale...

Bubbagen Live-USB for B3 updated (Linux 4.9.49-r1 LTS - Gentoo stable)

Hi, I've just released version 1.10 of the Bubbagen live-USB image for B3 on GitHub. Like the previous versions there is a choice of Init system: OpenRC ( 1.10.0 ) or Systemd ( 1.10.5 ). The kernel has been upgraded to 4.9.49-r1 which is the current latest stable version as declared by the Gentoo de...

Re: Printer HP Photosmart

Well, as it happens my wife brought a company laptop back home and needed to print something. Since my printer was not supported by the OS I went for the (more or less) generic postscript method, but it still needed some fiddling because Cups for some reason would not recognize the output as postscr...
