Re: Squeezecenter performance on Bubba Two?

Thanks for your reply Asparak. I must admit that I have only read positive reviews untill now from people who own one of these, so I don't expect it to be a disapointment. But ofcourse it all is a bit of what you are used to. In the forum post I linked to (http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?p=36...

Re: Squeezecenter performance on Bubba Two?

Hi people, Today I have been reading a lot about home servers, NAS and mini pc's. I am looking for a system I can run Linux on to play with it and run a webserver on it. Also I want to use it as a file storage / backup and especially run SqueezeCenter on it. Now Bubba Two seems to be capable of all...

Re: Reinstalling mysql - how?

check your log files, to see what the output of the error is. That might give a better indication of the reason. It could be a corruption, a password error, or anyone of a number of things.

Re: Bubba|Two Software update 1.2.0

Sorry i did not realize that the UI was down.... If you have commandline-access, can you as root run: DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -y update and DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -y dist-upgrade and provide the output from both commands? Sorry, I no longer have WAN access from bubba....

Re: Bubba 2 - HDD Temp question.

Sounds like something is loose. You need to unscrew the back plate and then it all just slides out, so you can check if something is loose. Certainly would explain your temperature issues. As to stats etc, look up phpsysinfo. It shows all the data you could want and if you have hddtemp installed, wi...

Re: Bubba Two Power Consumption

If you are worried about the temperature, I use an old laptop cooler, I bought on ebay for 4 pounds and it keeps my Bubba, Bubba Storage, Wireless AP and a Cisco Switch nice and cool. Only draws an extra 3W as well. Ambient in my office is 38C and the disks are only 42C. I switched the PSU's around ...

Re: [Solved] Too deep eSATA connector

If you connect the storage when the unit is running, it might not be seen. You could try a reboot.

If you are comfortable running CLI try:

mount /dev/sdb1 /home/storage/external/disk_0

Re: Do you trust the WAN security.

Only issue I have with the Bubba Two out of the Box, is it is a little tricky to block the usual suspects, (port 22, 80 etc), but if you are comfortable with hacking iptables, then its trivial to do.

I am seeing no more attempts to hack a Bubba Two, than were normal on our other Linux firewall box.

Re: Bubba Two Power Consumption

Hi Johannes, /dev/sda1 is currently running at 41C, but its quite a warm day. Memory usage currently 91% and currently reading 243.5V, 0.91A, 21.69W on a Brennenstuhl PM220 power meter, measured at the mains. This is a recommended meter by the EU Energy Saving Council. The PSU seems fine, just warm ...

Re: Murging Email

Sounds like you need filters, which isn't installed by default. If you search the forum, a couple of people have successfully installed the filter element from the horde website and filtering is on the wishlist for a future release.
