The quality of communication is also important in rating the merit of posters. Perhaps you can incorporate that into your code
Now, back to the substance of my post.. any response to that?

ICSI Netalyzr issue
The ICSI Netalyzr is handy online tool for testing or exploring your net connection and spotting any problems, including nastiness or incompetance on the part of your ISP. I think it also picked up an issue with with B3. You can run Netalyzr by visiting the Netalyzr website Possible B3 Issue: The re...

Re: Bubbamon hits Firefox
Where is BubbaMon these days? Its hard to find in this multi-page thread because the links are not updated - it would be nice to have a WikiPage or a location that won't move, e.g. can Excito host a d/l page for it?
Thanks,
Mark
P.S. v2.3 upgrade went very smoothly (so far!) thanks

Re: b3 bug - symbolic link in /home/storage/pictures breaks
Thanks Johannes - but I think you need to look into your handling of sym links because its not that it doesn't support it, but it locks up the UI indefinitely! I guess its a small tweak to manually remove the /home/storage/pictures limitation so I might well do so. BTW, I'm not certain, but pretty s...

Re: b3 bug - symbolic link in /home/storage/pictures breaks
Johannes I understand the wish to keep things simple. You've done a great job with B3 and I don't think you need to add unnecessary complexity, on the contrary you can simplify the existing scheme because consistency is an important factor in good UX. It is strange to have separate accounts and then...

Re: b3 bug - symbolic link in /home/storage/pictures breaks
Its not about you! Its not necessarily about privacy. Perhaps you'd like your precious art photo albumns stored where your teens can't muck about with them or your 8 year old can't accidentally delete them. Perhaps thats why you have separate logins? The point is flexibility. If you wanted the simpl...

Re: b3 bug - symbolic link in /home/storage/pictures breaks
I think these comments are red herrings. If a family doesn't want the multi-user flexibility of a multi-user system they would choose to have one login which everyone shares. In practice, these days I think each family member is likely to have their own devices and will probably want their own login...

Re: b3 bug - symbolic link in /home/storage/pictures breaks
FEATURE: I find it odd that on a multi-user machine there is a single /home/storage/pictures rather than one per user. What if I don't want other users to access my pictures? Strange comment! /home/storage is meant to be public. If you want to keep file private same them in you home directory (/hom...

b3 bug - symbolic link in /home/storage/pictures breaks UI
BUG: Using the web interface to create an albumn or add images freezes the UI indefinitely if a symbolic link has been placed in /home/storage/pictures. FEATURE: I find it odd that on a multi-user machine there is a single /home/storage/pictures rather than one per user. What if I don't want other u...

Re: Dropbox for Bubba ???
What about Tonido? They offer software that appears to be ready and covers most things I want from self hosted cloud storage. I searched excito forums and am very surprised there's not a single reference to "Tonido" - strange!? Features: http://tonido.com/software_what.html Linux installat...

Can you elaborate on this? In particular, what problems it addresses and where these were found (e.g. OS / hardware etc).carl wrote:

Re: Zabbix update-rc.d LSB tags and led_blink loop - on B3
Thanks Ubi. I solved this by creating and inserting my own LSB tags into the scripts. It looks as if the dependency decaults to $all when no LSB tags are present, which is odd (possible b3/squeeze issue), and that this causes a problem (loop dependency) since you can only have one such item (and thi...
