Re: Nginx+Apache2
My server seen from the web is nginx/0.7.67 and now I see the "default web page for this server" It was a blank page before with the "It works"-message. I have root as /home/web/; in /etc/nginx/sites-available/default should it be /var/www ?? From the default page of the server I...

Re: Nginx+Apache2
Http goes to nginx and gives 403 Forbidden error all the time. Https goes to Apache and it works. That's how it goes.

Nginx+Apache2
I did the Nginx-as-reverse-proxy-to-Apache thing and got some curious problems. I can get up my own stuff from B3 only by https. Http gives a blank page with this message: "It works! This is the default web page for this server. The web server software is running but no content has been added, ...

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
I have static address. I used Fail2ban against SSH abuse and it populated the jail beautifully, so it worked just fine. In fact I use SSH now only locally so Fail2ban has been mostly idle since I closed port 22. I changed to the new config and restarted Fail2ban. I'll see how many flies it will catc...

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
I know, it is probably somewhat stupid. I picked it up from someone, -1 means forever. How should it be written to ban only those looking for phpMyAdmin?

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
I have fail2ban up and running but the scripts I found for this purpose didn't work for me. I have 2 WordPress sites on B3 and I don't use phpMyAdmin at all. I would still like to get rid of the bots trying to find phpMyAdmin. I would need the .conf file to put into /etc/fail2ban/filter.d and an ide...

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
"I've set up fail2ban to immediately drop all traffic from those addresses trying to access those URLs."
How does the script look like that does the job?

Re: a little network problem
This was very strange. The thing went down on its own and came back on its own with the same settings. Maybe the reboots did it or whatever. I think that changes in network settings (the bind9 and resolvconf thing) had an effect on the system even after the removal of those programs. Too much experi...

Re: a little network problem
The ports and cables have been OK all the time, there wouldn't have been SSH to B3 if not. I had firewall off on Mac but it didn't change things. I have a laptop with Debian on it. The problem is the same there. This is the network setup that doesn't work: Internet: Destination Gateway Flags Refs Us...

Re: a little network problem
1. I have access to internet from B3 (screen+surfraw) 2. From LAN I get SSH connection to B3 plus the Webadmin page but no Internet. 3. iptables-save says that I have: -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE I can't ping anything else than 127.0.0.1 from my workstation, not OpenDNS at 208.67.220.220, a...

Re: a little network problem
It is not the firewall, I can use surfraw with screen from B3. Default route is set as the LAN IP of B3, as it was before. I can't ping the router from my workstation and not my workstation from B3. SSH works and the B3 admin page, but B3 as router doesn't. I don't know why I lost it, and I don't kn...

a little network problem
I would like to know what the problem is when b3 works properly with SSH but not as a router so that I could use it with a browser. There is no contact to server with them. network-test: INFO: This system is configured to use nameserver 127.0.0.1 INFO: Host 127.0.0.1 answers to ICMP pings INFO: Dns ...

Re: IP-phone setup problem
No phone still, but I think that it is the company that is a problem. Anyway just now I got my LAN messed up. The GUI interface has hung up, can't change LAN configuration there. Network test shows that everything is OK except that eth1 has no IP address assigned. That's why there is no LAN I guess....
