Re: How to build a kernel for Debian on Excito B3
Building custom kernel for the b3's debian system is one area where documentation is ... well absent. It's not overly complicated but I admit I never took the time to write it. Note that the goal is to create a kernel deb package. You can either build this package directly on the b3 (at least 8 hour...

Re: Easyfind end of service
Might be an idea to bring it down for a week or so to prompt these users to come visit here for info on why it is not working? Yes I think about that too and it's a "good" idea, at least to get some feedback. Just out of interest though, what kind of traffic and CPU does this service requ...

Easyfind end of service
Hello everyone, I post this here even if there's not been much traffic these past few months. As you know the current owner of the excito domains and the remaining stock of b3s (~40) (rodeus who has been bought and changed name to B2B Cyber Secure) has decided to stop the easyfind, hotfix and reposi...

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Kernel 5.10.117-1 is uploaded in the repo and available as an update, with intel wifi drivers included.
Do not hesitate to ask for kernel changes and/or upgrades. I cannot automate the build process (because it requires minimal testing) but building a new kernel is not very time consuming on my part.

Does that mean that you'll roll out kernel 5.10.117 as a stable update to all bullseye users now? If so, yay!

The kernel is ready but I saw a minor issue with leftover files after upgrade/removal. I'll need to rebuild the package tomorrow, it should be uploaded afterwards, I'll let you know.

Re: B3 bricked or broken?
If you have a serial connection you can use kwboot to boot from the serial line itself as kirkwood platforms have this builtin recovery method. I've written a tutorial here you can try it.

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
I suspect you will find it is not included as this is a fairly new driver and typically while upgrading kernels you reference the config of the old kernel and only add stuff if some core service requires it. Your suspicion is correct :-). A new version is currently compiling with the intel wifi dri...

Re: myownb3.com problems
Yes, various encryption standards have been marked as unsafe and deprecated over the years and although openssl still contains the code for it they have fairly recently set these standards to `disabled` by default[...]Didn't think that the reverse would also apply, i.e. a server not accepting an ol...

Re: myownb3.com problems
Thanks for this. It seems that the synchronization between the two dns servers broke for some reason (zones serials are synced but your record is not, that explains the values you see, google DNS rotates between the two nameservers). I've forced a sync and tested adding values and it seems to work ok.

Re: myownb3.com problems
There are new images available with more modern OS. You can go in the development section of the forum everything is there. There is no upgrade path from the old excito images to these new images.

Re: myownb3.com problems
Hello again, I've started a fresh install of the old excito image on one of my b3 and indeed both hotfix/upgrades and easyfind systems were broken. I've made some changes on the web server for these services (re-added old cryptographic protocols in nginx) and it seems to have fixed both hotfix/upgra...

System works fine on my end. I still continue to maintain the easyfind systems so don't hesitate to contact me here or via DM if you have issues.
