Re: Want admin to have every permission.
There are a few ways to do this but it is not recommended. The reason admin doesn't have those abilities is because it's used to access the web interface. If someone sniffed your admin password or somehow hacked your web interface they would have full access to your entire system. ...Question that j...

Re: Bubba server a dead project?
Well from my perspective, my B3 is doing everything I want it to do so I don't touch it very often now. That's the reason I don't post as often these days. I wouldn't expect them to bake every available hack on the wiki into the official release - that would be a nightmare for Excito in terms of tes...
Re: Splashtop
I'm failing to see what you would hope to achieve with this. Splashtop looks just like a Remote Desktop application like teamviewer etc. as the Bubba doesn't have a desktop (by default, anyway) it's not going to work. If you're talking about installing X Windows and a desktop environment on the bubb...

Re: Retroshare 0.5.4e released for Excito B3
It's cool that third parties are supporting the Bubba. How's that for market power? I'm not sure what this software is based on the OP though. Some kind of Tor/BitTorrent alternative?

Re: Howto block URLs in B2 firewall?
You could probably just point certain URLs to 127.0.0.1 in the hosts file which would stop the domains being resolved (but they'd still be accessible by IP address if your kids are savvy enough).
I would personally recommend OpenDNS for this as it has some very good features.

Just to be sure, does everything work as expected when you set everything back to defaults?

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
In the ignore IP setting just add the CIDR address for your network (default on bubba is 192.168.10.0/24 I think).

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
Also, there's a setting in jail.local that will exclude certain IP addresses from being blocked. I have my local network subnet and work IP addresses added to it so I can't accidentally block myself out. Also also, this might be more sensible for your 404 settings: [apache-404] enabled = true port =...

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
How much do you want? A complete step by step on how to set up fail2ban or just the specific part that drops those invalid URLs?toukie wrote:"I've set up fail2ban to immediately drop all traffic from those addresses trying to access those URLs."
How does the script look like that does the job?

I see that too - and vtigercrm as well for some reason. I've set up fail2ban to immediately drop all traffic from those addresses trying to access those URLs.

Not sure. I don't think they've ever done it for minor updates.

FYI, I think you can get this from the firewall.conf file in a reinstall image.

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2&3 software version 2.5.
They don't release an install image for every release. You need to install the latest image and then upgrade it.
