Re: myownb3.com
Unable to replicate here as well. That said, running the original perl script gives me an error as well though not the same as reported.

Re: myownb3.com
Log into the B3 GUI as admin and go to `settings - identity`. Click on `update Easyfind`
Alternatively: open an SSH connection to the B3 and execute `/usr/lib/web-admin/easyfind.pl`

Re: B4 =]
FWIW The Feroceon SoC was `old` already when the B3 was developed. Excito still favoured it though because faster CPUs as a rule generate more heat and that doesn't fit well with the design objectives: passive cooling and a hard disk in the same compact enclosure. As it stands I have no complaints a...

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Excellent! May be worth noting that where excito list points to does not contain anything that will run on recent Debian (as far as I know).

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Hi Thanks for this. I am having trouble installing/updating a lot of packages that boil down to a virtual package being missing that is provided by libc6-udeb: Similar result installing bind9-dnsutils for example. This is when upgrading from Buster to Bullseye, not a fresh install. libcrypt has bee...

Re: easyfind service
Seems good to me. So yes, should work. Of course you still need to open firewall ports/configure forwarding on your main router.

Re: BootLoop.
Did you swap the internal disk for a SSD? This behaviour indicates that it doesn't recognize it.

Re: easyfind service
Still works. It may take some time to propagate through the internet though. Also, what Operating System are you running on the B3? Between the transfer from Excito to Rodeus the online services have been temporarily hosted on a different domain name and an update was released to make the B3 target ...

Re: ZFS install?
In theory, yes. Since zfs is not part of the kernel you would however need to run your system from initramfs to be able to load the third party module. That I would say will be a pretty bad idea on the B3 given that it has only 512MiB of RAM. You might however be able to run the system from a regula...

Re: installing Transmission on B3
Right, I still had an archived version of the Excito pendrive content so I took a peek and it is in fact pretty simple to add backports (that's the Debian archive for unsupported old products) to your package manager. Just enter the following command inside the ssh shell: echo "deb http://ftp.s...

Re: installing Transmission on B3
I gather you are still running the original `Squeeze` based Bubba OS? Beware that Squeeze is no longer listed as a supported platform and because of that you need to change your Debian sources list to reference backports. I currently don't have a direct reference to the original content that was in ...

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (version 1.14)
Yes, writing 8GB to a USB thumb drive tends to be pretty time consuming and if you pull it out too soon after it declares being done you need to start the whole thing over again. I actually never flashed any of my B3s. I didn't even consider it being worth trying if Charles' newer version would supp...

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (version 1.14)
Gordon, The B3 web server page worked fine, with default password. However, with SSH server access default password does NOT work with the “admin” username. That is correct. The `admin` account is for web GUI access only (and for gaining access to root emails). The account is not allowed SSH access...

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (version 1.14)
Apologies... The uploaded file turned out to have a double extension. I've renamed them according to the links in the readme, so it should work now. Let me know if you experience further issues.
