Re: New In Box Bubba 3's for sale to USA

I received an e-mail from Mr. Gates (eBay reseller: netdiskountsdeals (New Jersey, USA)). His inventory of NOS Excito B3 units is dwindling. He is checking, how many B3s are left — Some of these B3 servers are not in original boxes (and have NO hard drives). The UBOOT upgrade, to support 3 TB hard d...

Re: FreeBSD or any other still supported os on Bubba 2?

I would send a note to Sakaki, so this can be addressed in custom B2 profile. Development Section of Excito Forums http://www.forum.excito.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5958&start=15 “At some point in the future I hope to roll out a custom profile for the B2 (as I have for the B3 and RPi3) so that...

Re: Setting up a B3 miniserver

Dwight - I used Gordon’s instructions for his Gentoo OS kernel. https://forum.excito.com/viewforum.php?f=7 My notes are for individuals to avoid potential issues, with a “clean install” on the B3. Specifically, UBOOT upgrade (required for 3 TB hard drive) and the manual partitioning of a new (blank)...

Setting up a B3 miniserver

I purchased an Excito B3 miniserver with Wireless option from eBay reseller netdiskountsdeals (Mr. David Gates) of Highland Park, NJ. The eBay price is extremely attractive for North American buyers. This B3 miniserver is New Old Stock (NOS) without hard drive or rescue USB flash drive. Based on har...

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 updated (Linux 4.4.39 LTS - Gentoo stable) + revision Apr 25

Received the NOS Excito B3 with Wireless LAN option, but without hard drive, last week. Based on hard drive rail marks, it appears this unit originally had a hard drive - which was removed. Since the history or mfg. date of this B3 was unknown, I updated the B3 bootloader to support 3 TB disks. http...

Re: New In Box Bubba 3's for sale to USA

I retired my Excito Bubba|2 (B2) last year after Debian dropped support for its PowerPC architecture. Picking up a new old stock Excito B3 next week. While my initial preference was to use MouettE’s Debian Stretch image, I installed Gordon’s bubbagen image (Gentoo plus B3 config web page). https://f...

Re: New In Box Bubba 3's for sale to USA

I saw these Excito B3 (new old stock) on an eBay auction (112879648455), last week.
eBay reseller: netdiskounts, Highland Park, NJ (USA)

US seller claims to have more than 10, in stock.
Curious if these B3 units have upgraded firmware (uboot?) for 3 TB hard drive support.

Re: Debian jessie image 1.0 released for Bubba|2 / B3

OKAY, finished back-ups and ready to wipe 2 TB drive for an OS upgrade. I booted Live Gentoo USB for BUBBA|2 and then decided to install it to check out its overall operation. A bit of a learning curve for my Debian/Ubuntu fingers .... Gentoo incorrectly adjusted the time for Central US, Daylight Sa...

Re: B3 still available for purchase

Diatron has corresponded with me, and is currently investigating. They will reply to my inquiry early next week. So we will see where that goes. -- My issue with Excito, they handed to Swedish Post (and really did not ask for clarity -- what was happening). I regularly purchase internationally, and ...

Re: Debian jessie image 1.0 released for Bubba|2 / B3

I have no idea, never checked the BUBBA|2 partition table -- after I changed hard drives.
Used the standard Excito USB boot image and installed on empty (new) drive.

Re: Debian jessie image 1.0 released for Bubba|2 / B3

But the problem appears obvious: the hard drive in your B2 does not contain a swap partition.
Correct. This was installation from the standard Excito BUBBA|2 image (USB),
when I upgraded to the 2 TB hard drive (WD Red) about 4 years ago.

Re: B3 still available for purchase

I sent Diatron an e-mail with a Query about shipping to North America.

I have never had an issue with DHL (their O'Hare Air Cargo facility is less than 10 km from my house).
