Re: Gentoo live USB for B3 (with Linux 3.15.9) released
Hi Sakaki,
I think it would be good to post the kernel. It might help the people working on updating B3 to more recent Linux distributions. I wouldnt mind having my B3 run without the blue light

[off-topic] Security of NAS-servers
Hi, This is totally off-topic, but I would like to share something about a ransomware threat that has been targetting Synology NAS-devices this week. It is specificcally targetting Synology NAS, but it shows a lot about the risks of being hacked and having your data stolen/corrupted etc. It reminds ...

Re: Kernel 3.2.61 for bubba3
Hi MouettE,
Great job! Good to hear about the progress updating the B3 to a new Debian. I cannot help you testing, this would get me a lot of trouble at home , but I am very interested in the results.
Yours,
Martijn

Re: The new guy needs help
Try typing either \\b3\ (or whatever name you have given your B3) of \\192.168.10.1\ or its IP-adress in the adress bar at the top of the explorer window. This should (after typing your username/password) give you a window showing two shares: home and storage. If you then rightclick on the home shar...

Then you will also have tried te SSD in another computer to make sure it's OK? And you have also partitioned the SSD for use in a B3?

Re: No IP
one more thing you might try if the camera still refuses to connect is to force the B3 to communicate at 100 mbps in stead of 1 gbps:
This limits your B3's network speed to 100 mbps, but it is worth a try to see if this is the problem.
Martijn
Code: Select all
ethtool -s eth1 speed 100 duplex full autoneg on

Re: No IP
From your post it could be anything. You didn't tell what type the other camera's are.. The fact that the two other camera's do get an IP form your B3 shows that the B3 is not faulty. You could try to make some adjustments to your setup to rule out things like bad cables etc. Did you try to connect ...

Re: Printing from Android device
Dear Michael,
Could you tell us what type of printer you have installed? I've got a Samsung CLP365w. This prints fine using the Samsung mobile printing app, but it doesn't use my B3 as a server.

Sorry Lymon,
The button on the moderator panel doesn't seem to work as I intend it to do. I guess you have to make some more posts and gain a normal usewr status.

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2&3 software version 2.6
Accidentally disapproved this post in stead of approving  Apologies to Odoepner Hello, Given Excito's recent focus shift away from Bubba and given that security issues like the one addressed in this thread can /will come up again, wouldn't it be the right thing to release _all_ of Excito's deb...
