Mouette - Here is the Install.log from my attempt with BUBBA|2 to upgrade (Jessie). Tweety - When I received my Bubba and Bubba|2 ... BOTH times my Excito products were "held hostage" at NYC customs (Kennedy) demanding $$ Goodfellas still exists ... BTW . Excito claimed ignorance ( we handed it to Swedish Post ). The first time, they let it pass after sitting in NYC for 2...

Re: Kernel 3.2 for B2/B3
I started the BACKUP of my Storage Directory on the Bubba|2 (~1.3 TB) ..... that will take awhile.
In the meantime, I have followed instructions by MouettE to create Debian jessie image 1.0
on the USB boot key for my Bubba|2.
I edited the file: install.ini for non-wipe mode.

My Excito B2 is also running old kernel (2012), so I need to decide path forward.
b2:~$ uname -a
Linux b2 2.6.39.4-13 #1 Sat Apr 21 00:42:46 CEST 2012 ppc GNU/Linux

Re: My B2 Hard Disk has failed
I have had very good luck with the Western Digital RED series.
For my B2, I used the 2 TB model -- very quiet and cooler operation.

Re: Easyfind migration
EasyFind is again working.
At my firewall/router, tbe TCP port 80 (http) was open to the B2,
BUT I also had to open TCP port 8080. Not unusual for other similar systems.

Re: Easyfind migration
Well. the EasyFind service appears to be working today (Sunday, 15:15 UTC),
but stops at my network Firewall (not B2) -- so I will have to "re-edit" those settings to have it access the B2 on that LAN.

Know that part.
Firmware upgrade for B2 appears to still "hard-code": http://xxxx.myownb2.com
for Easy Find usage. More than happy to change config in Debian,
as long as target server will be around -- more than a few months.

Re: Easyfind migration
No, not working.
What is the correct domain name, after all the changes??
... settings change required to B2 ?
I can bring up the ns1.mybubba.org directory -- but it just shows test directory.

Re: Easyfind migration
OK. I see that Easyfind not working (for my B2).The servers were migrated. You should no longer reference 'mybubba' but use 'excito' like before
Under Settings -> Identify -> Easyfind Options -> http://xxxx.myownb2.com
xxxx is Easyname name that I have.
What changed?

Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2&3 software version 2.6.
Happen to check the Excito website and forum earlier today,
and saw notice about version 2.6.3.0 update.
Happy to report that using the standard web interface that Update installation was successful.
It was installed in about 90 seconds.

Re: Replacing disk in B2?
The Excito "B2" model (current Linux versions) will only support up to 2 TB drives. I installed a new Western Digital 2TB RED (NAS) hard drive, part number: WD20EFRX then installed (and updated) the Bubba 2 image. Appears to be working fine, now with 4 times the storage ! I noticed that th...
