You all seem to have your Bubbas in such tidy environs... 800 ASA pic taken of my larder during poor light conditions: [Link removed] (hosted on bubba of course) Right to left, top to bottom: Printer paper stolen from work; plastic bag, contents unknown; bubba; shoddy cable work; toaster that came w...

Hi osa,

That sounds lovely!
I shall have to give it a try (biting my nails hard during the first attempt)...
I assume you are starting with the bubba.img that you got from Excito for "emergency reset to manufacturer settings and loose all data" scenario?
Not a backup USB image?

Sorry, What I meant was how did you manage to get access to your bubba without ssh? Have you got a custom rs232 interface or something? Or have I missed something? Any case above, please tell me about it, because I have some things I want to try as well, but I want to be able to recover the thing wh...

Hi TimSmithCA and others, I still haven't bothered to read up on samba and windows enough to get windows to correctly download the drivers from a print$ share on bubba as mentioned in the link posted by bjorn above, but printing from windows works flawlessly when the correct driver is installed on w...

Hi helder, I don't think that would be a good idea due to the performance of the USB interface available. Wouldn't it be better to increase the size of the swap partition on your internal hard drive and put seldom accessed files on the USB drive? Large files only accessed by slow remote network user...

Hi again,

Having said the above, please be aware that I have a theoretical maximum connection speed of 24Mbps down and 8Mbps up.

Hi Tim, I have my bubba exposed to the internet (not static IP, but I use ddclient to update the DNS if the IP changes), and I have seen as many as 482 concurrent TCP connections. Note that these were not web clients but bittorrent clients (i.e. connections living longer than the normal HTTP request...

Hi ncollingridge, My bubba does all the things you have mentioned above for me. However "web services" could mean a lot of different things, and you will probably not get the same performance from bubba as from your G4 powerpc processor. It works great for me, but if you have heavy tasks t...

It is interesting though to see all the usernames they try to log in with :-) How does this work really? When successful do they detect that they have hit an existing login, and then they start running through another (or the same) dictionary for the password? Just a username and no password doesn't...
