Yes, really nice! I had mine standing upright balanced on top of two empty cigarette packages, mainly to eliminate the vibrations from the HDD to oscillate in the thin wooden board in my larder where it lives. I since then bought some hefty glue-on rubber feet for it (the rubber feet advertised by E...

Hi Jin, Thanks for your kind reply. I understand your points about different renderer's abilities. I haven't got a rendering device (yet)... I tried using djmount, which will mount any upnp content available on the local network as a file system. Once mounted, you can see the m3u files on the mount ...

Print server being able to serve the windoze drivers?
Hi again, This is not terribly important for me, but it would be nice to be able to plug in a windows box into my network and have it install the needed printer driver from the samba printer server... As of now, it will find the printer, but no driver, so it has to be installed from the internet or ...

Hi Guys and Gals, Sorry for being a n00b, but could anyone please tell me what mediatomb will consider media and index for streaming? I have been considering to buy some rendering hardware, but before I did so I wanted to test the feasibility, so I installed djmount on my Ubuntu Feisty pc and checke...

I changed my /etc/mailname to localhost, and then I can see that the emails end up in the root home directory. But how do I read them? mail refuses to accept them no matter how I set my $MAIL variable...

Directories missing after reboot
Hi guys, To accommodate the download directory functionality of bubbalibres' excellent hack, I created a ~/www and a ~/www/torrents directory. I also put some other stuff in the www directory in order to be able to link it ... I'm now amazed to discover that after a reboot, the www directory is gone...

Hi guys, Just a quick note on this... Please be aware that ISO-8859-1 is NOT the same as Windows ANSI. MS has extended iso-1, and the name of windows ANSI is cp1252... Not sure if this is relevant to your problem, but just be aware. When it comes to understanding charset/codepage problems, I find th...
