Re: Tweaking photo albums
Hi, Did anyone find a better photo album. I'm trying to share photos with some friends and my family, so some shared items some private. The split is by directory so not at an individual level but even so with the current photo album this is tedious. I'm also keen to allow the friends to add new pho...

Remote access control
My Bubba2 is structured as follows, in /storage I have: /common /photos /music Everyone in my house has access to all. I want to set up a way of controlling access to the subdirectories (read photo albums) in /photos so I can allow a group of friends with a common interest to add photos and to see a...

Re: Announcing B3
I have some questions about B2, speaking as a Bubba2 user. More speed and more user friendly are always welcome, however I invested quite alot for my Bubba2 (1TB drive) last year and I feel it has alot of life left in it yet, so: 1: Can you quantify the speed improvement, does it help network transf...

Multiple file select in file manager
I found this in the release notes ... "Since we added the possibility to use "ctrl-click" and "shift-click" to select multiple files, .... " So, I think to upload files in file manager from my hard disk (Suse) I can shift and click to select multiple files. I cannot get...

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
Forgot to post results of using remotely, although not alot of need to really. Performed far better than Horde. I particular:
1: Initial load far faster
2: Selecting inbox from Horde sometimes took ages, with Roundcube response time very reasonable.
Gets my vote for the future.

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
Thank you for your help all. It is a rainy Saturday morning here and I've just found a good use for it. I have installed roundcube successfully. I haven't broken my Bubba2. Roundcube is working and it certainly is faster than Horde in my initial testing just using it from firefox on my desktop PC. I...

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
I think I have a misunderstanding here (probably several to be totally honest) - hopefully someone can clarify this. My Bubba is very much as standard install and now on latest level. My wife and I both keep our mail on the Bubba and point Thunderbird at it when at home. We are away alot (say one ni...

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
So, probably bad etiquette responding to my own append however, I decided to start looking at this myself. I'm not sure I'm confident enough to install by hand.... however. Some people seem to be running Lenny rather than Etch. If I've got that right then roundcube is in the Lenny repos. So, another...

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
I'd be really interested in this. I've had my Bubba2 for a while now and the one thing that lets it down is the webmail - Horde as set up with the Bubba2 is abysmally slow. I have a requirement to check mail remotely nearly every week when I'm away from home so finding a replacement would be great ....

Re: Release notes for BUBBA|2 version 2.0
Decided to upgrade having seen comments about new UI and seen it in gallery. Upgrade been stuck for 30 mins now looping at about 80.79% with message: Retrying Querying. Unable to connect to server. This is probably due to temporary shutdown of the webserver during upgrade. Please be patient. Will re...

Problems after restarting Bubba2 (USB and autostart)
Can anybody help me with resolution to either of the following problems please? I group them together as they happen together to one program. First this occurs when I have to restart my Bubba2 which isnt often but does happen. I have a program I run called MisterHouse which is written in Perl. Miste...

Re: My Bubba2 - new install - new user
Latest on install. I've not had much time recently to do anything. But here is what I have done. 1: Gave up on printing (my printer started having problems), so moved to a new wireless printer. 2: Converted family mail accounts to use Bubba. This is great as I have to be away quite a bit so accessin...

File sharing and permissions
Hi, I've been reading through the forums and I need some advice as I can't see answer to my question and having changed a number of things the problem never gets fixed... just a bit different. So, I have one Bubba2 and I have four PCs, two are windows, two are Linux. I have created a subdirectory in...

Perl module support
Hi, I've just started to install a perl program I run for house automation onto my Bubba2. It has generated alot of errors and I'd like some guidance please. Rather than put the errors here I thought it might be simpler to show the commands I'm issuing. First: There was no make and no FTP on the Bub...
