Thermal images of Bubba and Bubba2

Rented a thermal camera the other weekend to find out where the house is leaking heat, took the opportunity to also do a thermal scan of the server cabinet... Pictures found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/goranna/sets/72157623293209019/ The numbers on the pictures are the temperature in degrees Cel...

Oops, deleted some snmp files...

Ok, it was rather late in the evening, but still not the smartest thing to do. Managed to do a rm -r /usr/share/snmp And now snmp isn't working very well anymore... Anyone knows if the needed files can be restored by apt-get some particular package, or is some other tweak needed? I have messed aroun...

Re: Compiling on the bubba two - qc-usb

Hi, The qc-usb driver on SourceForge seems ancient. You are sure that this is the correct driver for your cameras? Ie you have verified the usb-ids against the ones mentioned on the homepage? Ahh, well I guess they are a bit old... But the thing is I have two old webcams (that still work well under...

Re: Compiling on the bubba two - qc-usb

Hi Tor,

Have a look at http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/.
Great if you could help out getting this running on the Bubba2!

Compiling on the bubba two - qc-usb

Continuing the work to get my old webcam working on the bubba 2 rather than on the original bubba . Looking in /lib/modules on the bubba two, it says the source is available in /home/tor/work/kernel/2.6.26-5/ethfix/linux-2.6.26.5, which obviously doesn't exist on my bubba two. Excito, any pointers t...

Re: Latest kernel version for bubba, compile kernel modules

Problem solved. Not sure the sources at http://download.excito.net/kernel/2.6.16/linux-2.6.16.16-at91-ex.tar.bz2 are correctly configured, or maybe I managed to mess them up before compiling the module I've been working on. When following the steps in http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=...

Re: Latest kernel version for bubba, compile kernel modules

After a lot of struggling I still haven't been able to use the cross compiler to compile the qc-usb kernel module for Logitech Webcams. The modules source actually compiles fine on the bubba, but as pointed out in this post and in the qc-usb README, the kernel module needs to be compiled with the sa...

Re: Latest kernel version for bubba, compile kernel modules

It's a dangerous hazel to upgrade the kernel for the BubbaServer due to that it's located in flash, and not on disk; It's possible to upgrade it, but one failed move will brick the device :( Read again. We're not talking about upgrading the kernel, he just needs the kernel source to compile kernel ...

Latest kernel version for bubba, compile kernel modules

I am running 2.6.16.16, not sure if that is the latest version or not? At least Excito's servers don't give me any later when updating.. Main question though: I am trying to connect a Logitech "QuickCam Web" webcam to the bubba (1st gen), in order to take regular snap shots and create a ti...

Re: Digitemp 1-wire ?

I guess this is kind of an old thread, but thought I'd link to another thread on the same topic:
http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f ... 43&start=0

Turns out even the old bubba works well as a 1-wire server.

Cheers,

Re: External temperature sensors?

I've started to build a sensor network with a Bubba (1st gen) as the centre point. So far 6-7 temperature and humidity sensors attached, a few more planned. Right now I am using the thermd software (written in Perl). Not super fast on the bubba... but it works. Storing the information in a mysql ser...

compiling fuse for bubba?

Trying to get owfs working on the original bubba (running 2.6.16.16), in order to monitor a 1-wire sensor network attached to a ha7net 1-wire controller. owserver runs fine, as does owhttpd. owfs fails due to fuse not working correctly. Before spending too much time looking into this (am not by any ...

Controlling relays, lamps etc via USB port

Looking for a way to control a set of relays from the Bubba2. The scenario is that I have a set of radio controlled switches (from Jung) across the house, and would like to hook up a radio transmitter for those to the B2. The transmitter has four inputs that just need to be closed to send the respec...
