Re: WD Red
The point in those statements is... 1-2 degrees (or 4 degress in one case) lower then before (meaning in comparison to original Green disks) - I imagine the B3 setting/position was the same before and after (its just speculation though).

Re: WD Red
Thank you for the command... will give it a try (and install the necesary prerequesites).
At the begining of this post you will find people describing their experience with Red disks, the disk temperature being 1 - 2 degrees lower than on Greens, one even stated 4 degrees lower.

Re: WD Red
Except, as far as I understand these descriptions, the Red drives have a design that keeps the heat away from the plates. In this respect I would guess the Red is better. I have another question though... I have seen mentioned in the posts the LCC and start/stop cycles... what is the command (or com...

Re: WD Red
I use my B3 frequently for DLNA and up/downloads... I guess disks are in use quite a lot, right? I've read through the post "Finding out what's using disk" and I saw you made a significant progress, but since disk will be spining in my case, I am better of with Red, right?

Re: WD Red
Apparently, the number of plates will be the same, only the density will increase... from current 750GB per plate (3TB) to 1TB and 1,25TB per plate (for 4TB and 5TB disks respectively). At least it is rummored so. And I have to correct myself... this was not officially anounced by WD but was reporte...

Re: WD Red
WD anounced new green and red drives to come out later this year. 4TB by the end of Q3 2013, and 5TB by the end of Q4 2013. Needless to say that sounds extremely interesting for my B3. Now, can B3 normally handle (and recognize) more than 3TB drives, or are there any limitations? So for B3 Red is ac...

Seagate NAS HDD 4TB
Hi, I recently discovered that Seagate has also released their NAS series disks (as did WD last year with its RED series). Doesn anyone have any experience with them (in relation with B3)? What about thermal and noise image, how cool and silent are they? Does B3 support these disks and does B3 suppo...

Re: Transfer speed
I don't have that laptop anymore, so I can't answer that. Besides, I have my WiFi set to 2,4GHz, since I need 2 wall penetration and 5GHz had problems with it. On another note... I am currently connected to B3 over LAN (1Gbps port) and I am at this moment copying two .iso file 5GB in total, and I am...

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
Sorry but do you realize the manner in which you just set up your system? Wouldnt you say its kinda ridiculous to allow a single PHP script to eat 1G of memory for a post on a machine that has 1G memory tops? Just the upload to 1G will take so long the script will timeout, and if it does not, you j...

Re: phpMyAdmin installation
OK, php.ini post_max_size and upload_max_filesize did the trick. I changed that just a few days ago to about 4GB so that I could upload larger files to owncloud. Apparantly 4GB is too much. I changed them both now to 1024M.
What is the allowed maximum for these two variables?

Re: B3 and Owncloud - guidance
I decided to install phpMyAdmin, however I have some problems with running it... I fear I might have messed up some folder ownership and permissions.
What is the default ownership and permissions of /home/web and of /var/www?
