Re: Samba not started after reboot
I've got the same problem on my new B3. In /etc/rc2.d I have S06samba (which is a link to /etc/init.d/samba). What I noticed is that smbd isn't started properly, it core dumps. Looking at the first lines of /var/log/samba/log.all I see the following: [2010/12/12 19:54:02.774169, 0] lib/interface.c:5...

Re: imap quota
Ok, here is how to do it. You have to edit /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf and edit the following three entries (protocol imap, protocol pop3, plugin: protocol imap { mail_plugins = quota imap_quota } protocol pop3 { pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv mail_plugins = quota } plugin { quota = maildir:User quota ...

imap quota
Since bubba uses dovecot as imap server it is possible to set quota to imap mailboxes (bubba 2 and 3, the original bubba used a too old dovecot version). As I don't have my bubba 3 yet and can't check, I want to ask if this can be set in the webinterface, or do I have to 'hack' into the dovecot conf...

Re: Dovecot / Horde Failure
You should be able to see the start/stop messages of dovecot in /var/log/mail.log
Tip for next time: don't delete certificates, rename them to .old or something, that way you can put it back when the new certificate doesn't work.
Have you tried
c_rehash /etc/ssl/certs

LACP
Since the B3 has two GB ports it would be nice to be able to set it up using the webinterface to use the bonding device. The bonding module has several modes, mode 0 for roundrobin and mode 4 for LACP. In that last case of course you need to set up your switch correctly. Just a thought. Of course on...

Re: No space left on device
The system will struggle with a filled up root filesystem. To find where's the culprit try: du -x -h / | more the -x uption means du is not going to view other (mounted) filesystems, the -h is for a more human readable form (i.e. 1G for 1 GByte etc). At least you can see which directories are contai...

Re: No space left on device
Hi, you mistake the space on your device used to store your data, and the space on the device that contains your root system directory (which is what this error is about). One common reason for having the root filesystem (/ ) filled up is that it contains the /var/log directory as well. Have a look ...

Re: Calendar question
Thanks Tor and Puma, this is what I thought. Yes, the reason that I skipped Bubba2 was that it wasn't much faster than the original bubba (which is still working fine). If I upgrade it should be substantially faster, like bubba3. Good to hear that it works (although unsupported). Now I only need to ...

Calendar question
I am using an original bubba, but am contemplating a replacement with a bubba 3. I have a question regarding the calendar support on bubba 3, which I assume is the same on bubba 2, reason I post the question here. Can I connect to the calendar using the lightning add-on in thunderbird, i.e. can I co...

Any updates on this, as I am quite interested. Of course the filesystems need to be mounted with the noatime option, I am bit more worried about the swap partition on the compact flash. As of speed, hdparm shows about 20 MB/sec for the internal harddisk (I assume the system throughput is the bottlen...

Support for the original bubba?
Although a new bubba seems to be on the horizon, I want to know if the original bubba (which still works like a charm) will get a (last) update?
Will it get etch (debian 4.0) or stay with sarge but with the last update (3.1 from April 13th, 2008)?
Thanks,
Albert

It's best to copy the whole Mail directory in your home directory on your bubba. That way you leave the filestructure for the mail server dovecot intact. Handiest is to put a memory stick in the back of bubba and tar every Mail dir of every user to it's own file. File ownership and rwx settings are ...
