Re: PHP 5.4 on B3
Up and running this evening. Logged on to Owncloud successfully. Instructions were spot-on thank you. Now just down to me to swap HDD for SSD and move the USB key contents to the SSD. Once that is done and stable add the old HDD as external drive and move all contents from my 'production B3' across ...

Re: PHP 5.4 on B3
Wow! I timed out over Easter, however I'd got as far as starting Owncloud, but hit two problems: 1: 'Cannot write to apps directory' 2: 'need to set locale' Your update contains the fixes for both. This is an awesome piece of work, thank you. I've decided to start from scratch again, recutting my US...

Re: PHP 5.4 on B3
Yes, fundamental error on my part, read more haste = more embarrassment. Indeed Owncloud 8 is exactly what I meant.

PHP 5.4 on B3
Has anybody managed to compile PHP 5.4 on a B3? If so would you be prepared to share how or if you created a .deb share the file. I need to install PHP 5.4 as it is a requirement for Opencloud 8. I ended up at https://www.howtoforge.com/building-php-5.4-from-source-on-debian-squeeze but get lots of ...

Re: Replacing the B3 boot hard drive
For anyone considering an SSD same alignment issue exists, to get the best out of it 4K alignment needs to be taken care of.

Re: Monitoring my B3
For anyone else looking at monitoring I found this blog entry. Very readable, i was initially surprised at the number but realised I should not be. Some look really interesting, however decided to stick with a limited number and try to focus on web based to meet my (limited) needs. https://blog.serv...

Re: Distro question
Currently my B2 is not being used for anything significant, just me tinkering when I have time. So, I think I might give the B2 Gentoo USB a whirl just for my own education - never tried Gentoo before.

Re: Distro question
Agree, for me staying with Squeeze make sense in short term. However, 'considerable gain' in performance is always tempting.

Re: Monitoring my B3
Short answer, was on RPi Google+ list when someone mentioned EZServermonitor.Just downloaded it and copied to my web directory. I'd not heard of linux-dash until you mentioned it. Downloaded Linux-dash and installed. It reports 0% CPU util when my B3 was busy. I'm guessing it's a similar problem to ...

Re: Monitoring my B3
Hopefully the author will add the following items except the esm.config.json addition to the GitHub version if not already done. As best I can tell these are all the changes made for it to work. To monitor Squeeze server on B3.... Add following to esm.config.json { "name": "Squeeze Se...

Distro question
I have a simple question but before I ask it I want to make it clear I'm not trying to seed a big arguement or flame war about distros. I just need to try to go down the right route and not get left behnd. I have two B3s and a B2. All are running the latest, 2.6.0.2 (Debian Squeeze) from memory. I u...

Re: Monitoring my B3
when I installed it last week I had no CPU load numbers, no network numbers an no information in the section that shows the # of cores. There is a version on GitHub that sorts out the network numbers. I'll send you the other files that the author modified to get CPU load numbers. I'll also post my s...

Monitoring my B3
I was poking around on the web like you do the other day and thinking about how I track what's going on with my B3s. It had occurred to me for a while that without ssh into the B3 I don't get a lot of information out on what's used, what's happening etc. I found this... http://ezservermonitor.com/ S...

Re: B3 and Owncloud (Dec14 update)
Not had much time to do anything over the last couple of months until this weekend. Here is my latest status. 1: Calendar working great, shared between OSX Yosemite(2 users), iPhone, two iPads. 2: Contacts working great, shared between OSX Yosemite(2 users), iPhone, two iPads. 3: Upgraded Owncloud f...
