Still some download problems

Not a major problem, but the figures displayed for the torrent downloads still don't seem to display correctly for larger downloads. I have had a download ongoing for a few days, the Torrent size was 5.4GB. It has reached 95% complete (that is what is displayed) However the "DL:" shows onl...

I don't think rrohde has been too forceful with what he is trying to do, he certainly never suggested that you should follow his ideas. However, when I just had my main PC, I used this for all my firewalling and networking with two nic cards, the downside was that I had to keep this running 24/7, I ...

....and personally I would prefer to use a dedicated router for this job rather than steal precious processing power away from Bubba. I also prefer to have my Bubba behind the inbuilt firewall in the router then leave it open and exposed to the internet.

No, I'm a British guy living here in Sweden !

Nowadays when I go back to England I cringe when I see carpets in bathrooms  I couldn't afford to live or rent in England these days, I pay less then half the rent I used to when I lived in England. :D

Is there an update coming next week then Tor ?? :P

If so, just a reminder to make sure you include the complete contents of the 'webadmin' directory so that those of us using Bubbalibres hack do not have any problems during the upgrade :D

I think for what you are using the Bubba Webserver for it should just be fine. Complex PHP pages can run a little slow on Bubba, but static and download pages should be just fine. Least it is with mine, I do not notice much of a difference between my old 'proper' server and Bubba in this respect. Yo...

Ahh, that'll work for me. Thanks !

I worry about messing with sshd too much because if I break it, then I've lost all my access.

Thanks, I may investigate doing this, however I normally SSH into my Bubba via my companies firewall. Port 23 is open but I will have to check if the others are first.

Restricting SSH login attempts

I've noticed looking at my /var/log/auth.log that some hacking bot has been attempting to gain access to my Bubba via SSH. It hasn't suceeded of course but throws hundreds of login attempts over the space of a few minutes. Is there a possibility to configure SSH so that it will only allow 3 or 4 wro...

[edit]Oh, and Clive, with regards to Linux being a pain to set up and maintain; that hasn't been my experience with Ubuntu, in fact I think it does an excellent job of staying out of my way even with default config, which is something Vista fails to do repeatedly. Of course, YMMV.[/edit] I'm using ...
