Re: syslog errors

Shouldn't be getting these errors though. I just checked my system and I've been getting them since February 1st. I think this has been posted before and it was caused by a DB outage at Excito but I might be making that up.

Re: B2 problems data recovery options

What I would like to be able to do is assess whether the internal or external drive might have errors on it so that I can focus on getting my data off the other. At the moment, I cannot locate my data on the mounted /dev/sda1 and I assume this is because the RAID setup means /home becomes dependent...

Re: B2 problems data recovery options

I haven't read your post fully (didn't see it when originally posted) and I have no experience of using the B2/3 in a RAID setup so I'm not sure how that changes things. But, If you get a system running desktop Linux (Ubuntu live CD for example) and plug the hard drives into it with a USB/eSATA adap...

Re: Network stopped working

Well if they've replaced the motherboard then you've effectively got a different B3 that by your own admission worked when it was returned to you. Therefore you are either doing something wrong or it is an environmental problem. I haven't read the full thread for a while, have you tried different ca...

Re: Using B2/B3 as router with Sky Fibre FTTC broadband.

Well the post doesnt look all that strange if you cant see the complete thread. To be honest I havent seen ny real spam on this forum for years, and these very few probes that make it through the initial screening get marked and removed within hours. All in all Id say the mods here deserve a big co...

What? Are you on dial-up? Is this genuine or a spam bot?

Re: Lost connection with my B3

Top line is a winner. From their website: March 1, 2013: NJABL is in the process of being shut down. The DNSBL zones have been emptied. After "the Internet" has had some time to remove NJABL from server configs, the NS's will be pointed off into unallocated space (192.0.2.0/24 TEST-NET-1) ...

Re: Lost connection with my B3

Sorbs would have been commented out because of the number of false positives they produce (I remember a discussion on here about it). And AFAIK they are still running. I do specifically remember another one shutting down in the last year or two. What lists do you have enabled in main.cf? Not saying ...

Re: Lost connection with my B3

Regarding point 1: one of the RBLs in the default postfix config for the B3 has, I believe, since shut up shop. I can't remember which one, but I think it had a .nl domain so shouldn't be hard to work out which one. Just look at the list in /etc/postfix/main.cf.

Re: I have been attacked and don't know why.

The easiest thing to do is check the contents of the crontab for www-data. It's the file called /var/spool/cron/crontabs/www-data.

Re: I have been attacked and don't know why.

The squeezebox server error is caused by that package being removed by an update (IIRC) but the associated logrotate files not being removed.

Re: I have been attacked and don't know why.

Regarding abuse reports; I appreciate they are mostly victims themselves but when the attacks are coming from the likes of Amazon AWS addresses, reporting it back to them can be useful so the victims can be alerted. IIRC, Amazon are actually one if the few companies I actually got a (automated) resp...
