Re: [Bug Report]Backup/Restore Web Interface
The ability to encrypt backups is also a must have feature.

Re: [Bug Report]Backup/Restore Web Interface
The problem with rsync is that it's rarely found on remote servers (unless you're able to install it yourself). There are any number of companies supplying ftp based storage, very few supplying rsync.

Re: [Bug Report]Backup/Restore Web Interface
Hi PA.
I think some kind of versioning system should be in place otherwise you might not notice a corrupted file until it's already been synced.

Re: [Bug Report]Backup/Restore Web Interface
Backups are very important to me, I've seen too many people lose family photos and such like because they couldn't even be bothered to burn a spare CD or whatever. Again, sorry for the venting but I'm a persistent bastard and I'll get this working if it's the last thing I do. If I make any serious p...

Re: [Bug Report]Backup/Restore Web Interface
PA, sorry to sound like I'm ranting here but the entire backup and restore setup seems to be totally screwed. Every time I isolate and fix one bug I find another. The result is that I just can't get a stable and reliable backup. I've got examples in logfiles where the uploading of a volume has faile...

Re: [Bug Report]Backup/Restore Web Interface
No problem Pa (how am I supposed to write your name? Is it Pa like a name or PA like initials?). Thought about using Launchpad or something like that to track bugs?

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
Hi Pa, I did check out a newer version of duplicity and it doesn't seem to have these commands in it. Feel free to double check though. I thought you left it with adding the timeout, This fix stopped working when I changed ftp servers so I had to start investigating again. Now that it's all fairly s...

Re: [Bug Report]Backup/Restore web interface
New bug: the username for my ftp server is my email address but the web interface doesn't allow "." or "@" in the username. I have to manually edit the jobdata file.

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
Fixed again. There are two lines are in /usr/share/pycentral/duplicity/site-packages/duplicity/backends/ftpbackend.py that need to be changed from self.passive = "no" and self.passive = "yes" to self.passive = "off" and self.passive = "on" My test backup just ...

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
I think I have got to the fundamental root of all the problems mentioned in this thread but I can't work out how to fix it. Somewhere between logging on to the ftp server and starting to upload files this appears in the log: ftp command: 'set passive yes' The correct syntax to set passive mode with ...

Re: Encrypting the whole disk, not only backups
It is pretty easy to set up. I think there is a how-to on the forum. However, having it set up out of the box would be better.

Does anyone want to trade some storage space?
I've had an idea, it might be crud, it might be great. Short story, feel free to skip this bit: I am obsessed with keeping online backups. When I was running a Windows box I used Mozy. Now I've my Bubba2, finding a backup company that supports Linux is hard enough - but finding someone that supports...

Re: Bubba Two file manager...
It also needs a "select all" @Tor, I've recently used and been very impressed by ExtExplorer ( http://extplorer.sourceforge.net/ ) as a web based file manager. It's open-sauce too so it should play very nicely with the Bubba. There's a demo here - http://www.extjs.com/explorer/#over...

Re: Database error when accessing Photo Album
Fixed!
The settings from /etc/dbconfig-common/bubba-album.conf had, for some reason, all been wiped. I pulled the default file from the USB installer image and entered the correct settings.

[solved] Database error when accessing Photo Album
Hi, I haven't set anything up with my Photo Albums yet but I'm sure it was all working when I first set my Bubba2 up. I've just clicked on the link now and get this: A Database Error Occurred Error Number: 1046 No database selected INSERT INTO `sessions` (`session_id`, `ip_address`, `user_agent`, `l...
