How do I transfer files to and from it? What protocol, FTP? AFP? SMB?
Hi Joe,

FTP and SMB out of the box. NFS took me 3 minutes to set up. Never tried AFP, I'm not a Mac user..

Cheers

EDIT - How about a powered USB hub, could that be added too ??

Yes, it works fine. I have a printer and an USB 2.5" HDD of the two-plug-variety attached via a powered hub.

Cheers

A typical example, showing DL/UL speeds, and also top output. Note that ftd is the process that is downloading/uploading the torrent.
The bottleneck is not the CPU or the network connection, but rather the availability of the the torrent.

By the way, what is the maximum DL-speed if I only use it for BT? Have a 24MBit line, and would like to use it to it's capacity! Hi Calder, I also have a 24Mbit line, and I get nearly the same speed on a single BT download as I get on my PC. If you have several busy BT downloads the speed will decr...

Hi kitabu, I was also unsuccessful at getting VLC to work as a upnp client, but I have used djmount http://djmount.sourceforge.net/ and it works fine on Ubuntu. You set up a mount point and then mount it with djmount. It will find upnp stuff on your network and it will be available as a file system ...

Hi Egix, In order to do this you would have to get either a USB fax modem, or a USB/serial converter and a normal serial fax modem. Then you would have to find some Debian fax server software like HylaFAX http://www.aboutdebian.com/fax.htm and install it on Bubba and configure it with your modem. I ...

smb.conf file?

Hello fellow Bubba users!

I seem to have misplaced my original smb.conf file (ok, I forgot to back it up before I messed it up). I do not want to restore a complete Bubba backup for various reasons. Can someone please send me an unaltered copy?

TIA

Hi Golodh,

Samba comes installed and configured out of the box.
You should be able to map the default shared directories on the Bubba from windows without having to do any configuration on Bubba.
