Re: Is this iptables example correct?

Seems to me like a bad example, although it might serve a demonstrative purpose if it even had been correct. Your version is in this sense correct. Thing is that the first rule is supposed to protect against a syn flood, but at the same time it expects a site that does bad things to send perfectly c...

Re: Release notes for Excito B3 software version 2.4

About that being cryptic...

Thanks for confirming that there is in fact a new kernel. Can anyone please where / when the kernel source for this version will be available? For now I'll have to skip the update, how promising the improvements may seem.

@RandomUsername:

If you don't have /lib/modules/2.6.38/modules.dep, what entries *DO* you have in /lib/modules?

Re: Iptables restore scheduled?

That is clever indeed, even though probably not many people will have this type of NAT rules in place. But there also appears to be a bit of an oversight here. As you found out, it does not take into account that there may be dynamic (unsaved) rules in place that get deleted this way. It would also ...

Re: Release notes for Excito B3 software version 2.4

Just upgrade to 2.4, upgrade went smoothly. I have a small problem with Logitech Media Server. When trying Rescan Media Library with the option “Clear library and rescan everything” It is not clearing the library! There is no option to clear the library. Looking for solution for the issue. Alon The...

Re: Release notes for Excito B3 software version 2.4

Quick question: am I reading correctly that this involves a new kernel as well? Are the sources available for this as well?

(I can't afford the luxury of crippling my ipsec - klips - connection right now)

Re: Iptables restore scheduled?

If I am not completely mistaken ifplugd runs on every plug event, such as boot, link up etc. It should not run just with dhcp renewal by expiry. Can this be the root cause? I'd doubt that the log lines shown will be the only ones of interest here. The fact that something appears to have happened wi...

Re: Iptables restore scheduled?

Actually that makes a lot of sense if you look at the dependencies declared in the bubba-firewall script:

Code: Select all

# X-Start-Before: ifupdown ifplugd
# X-Stop-After: ifupdown ifplugd

Re: External disk format supported.

FAT should be fine. Just keep in mind that this disk format has a file size limit of 4Gb, which can be a problem with large media files and ISO images.

Logitech Media Server

The version of Squeezecenter distributed with the latest B3 software has been giving me loads of headaches. First off my whole library was gone and I had to rescan everything, which is okay because it can do that over night and I was still able to access the music folder directly. The major anoyment...

Re: DLNA on Excito Bubba 2 ver. 2.4-RC1

Yes, but there's no telling how old someone's TV set is and apparently limits still apply especially with Sony equipment. Of course they would support H.264 on modern TV's - it's the most common format for HD (720p and 1080p) today - but the most heard complaint is that Matroska files can't be playe...

Quite possibly the same issue as reported here: http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3559. And here's a document that might be of interest to anyone trying to stream media to a device from any major manufacturer: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10007069-1.html Essentially, if you want...

Re: [Solved] Ln command

I guess you mean the flags should then be noauto, user? Correct. Also having the mount defined in fstab with the noauto flag would make mounting on the fly a much simpler command. Of course if you want the mount to be always up and script this in rc.local (or something controlled by rc.local) then t...
