Re: Automatic backup, triggered by connecting device

I got this in mount.log : mount: special device /dev/disk/by-uuid/4712bbff-f59c-4ddd-ad2c-2613c69df2c1 does not exist But again, when I mount it via sudo , it works. At this point I'll mention that this is the second USB disk I've tried to use. The first one is a very old 1 GB stick, and the script ...

Yes, it works when I do it manually (via sudo).

Re: Automatic backup, triggered by connecting device - mount

Even after the 1.2.0 update, I am trying to use this wonderful script. My best backup solution is to copy the data onto a cheap USB disk and store it offsite. This is a lower cost plan than using the 1.2.0 built-in backup feature for remote backups across the internet. So, my question is about the m...

Wifi router problem

My question is a bit off-topic but Bubba2 is in the mix, so I decided to ask you folks. I have Bubba2 connected in the "Scenario 2" way, serving as router, firewall and server. Connected to Bubba2 on the LAN side is my USR5461 wifi router. Bubba2 has DNS and DHCP servers enabled. USR5461 h...

Re: Bubba|Two Software update 1.2.0

Hi PA, Everything seems to be returning to normal. The WAN-side network issue appears to be related to my cable-modem handshake with bubba. Now it is working. I ran: DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -y update It worked up to this point: W: GPG error: http://ftp.se.debian.org etch Release: The ...

Re: Bubba|Two Software update 1.2.0

Sorry i did not realize that the UI was down.... If you have commandline-access, can you as root run: DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -y update and DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -y dist-upgrade and provide the output from both commands? Sorry, I no longer have WAN access from bubba....

Re: Bubba|Two Software update 1.2.0

What version is the web-UI reporting on the "home"-section when logged in as "admin"? Can you provide us with the output from the file "user.log", accessible from the UI as 'admin' under "Settings->Logs". The web-UI pages are totally nonfunctional. Please sen...

Re: Bubba|Two Software update 1.2.0

The update did not go well for me. I followed the instructions for update via the web admin page. The progress bar went to 100% complete in 5 seconds. I shutdown and restarted bubba. After restart, my home LAN does not have internet access, even though bubba does. Plus, http://bubba/admin returns a ...

You can do this. You just need to configure iTunes to use your music folder on bubba as the library. In my case, I have 2 PCs at home. I wanted to be able to play iTunes on both of them with the same big library. I put the iTunes metadata folder on bubba and configured iTunes on each PC to access th...

DNS or NetBIOS problem

Hi, this question might not be specific to Bubba, but I hope someone can help me out. I have two Windows XP PCs in my home LAN, plus my Bubba II. On PC1, I cannot ping bubba, but I can ping bubba.localdomain. On PC2, I can ping bubba, but in the output of the ping.exe program it translates the hostn...

Monitor for available bandwidth

Is there a tool out there for monitoring the bandwidth available from my ISP? I'd like my Bubba to report on available bandwidth once an hour. I'm thinking of something like the speed tests offered for free by DSLreports.com. (http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest). I'd like to find a way to run a tes...

Apple AirTunes vs. Logitech Squeezebox

Any thoughts on how Apple AirTunes compares to the Squeezebox/SlimServer solution? I'm planning to build out the interface between my bubba2 and my stereo. Right now I don't have any Apple products in the house so I'm totally agnostic about all this. All my music archive files are currently MP3 but ...
