Re: Message size limit
Gordon, Thanks for your help and patience, I'd not planned to add more however, just in case others do see this here is my current position. Yes, I do use their smtp server, it is coded into my B3 via the admin GUI. I have changed th maximum as I stated earlier and logging on with Telnet to port 25 ...

Re: Message size limit
So, I would not call downloading emails onto my B3 from an ISP mirroring. My understanding was I was downloading them. Mirroring is something completely different.
Apparently I am guilty. Guilty of not knowing there was a limit in the way the software was set in my B3.
subject closed. bye

Re: Message size limit
"And that's the whole point. Now you've got this guy that sent an email with a 27Mb attachment complaining that redw0001 is spamming him with 552 error messages and he doesn't even realize that he caused this himself and that his ISP should have stopped him in the first place." That bit so...

Re: Message size limit
Gordon, Broadly I agree with your sentiments. I dislike intensely getting emails greater than a few MB. However, I cannot stop people sending bigger emails. What I'm trying to achieve is to stop me flooding them with smtp error 552 emails (too large). My B3 checks my ISP for mail once every five min...

Re: Message size limit
I wish to update the default 10MB maximum email size, I think the answer to this lies in the link in the response to the original poster, however the viewtopic does not work, just gets me some error. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. A friend sent me an email with 27MB of attachment...

Re: B3 and Owncloud
Despite calendar and contacts now sharing well between between iPad, iPhone, OSX and being hosted on owncloud on my B3 I'm getting some error messages from logs. I know there are a few owncloud users on B3 so before I ask on the Owncloud forum has anyone seen these messages, or can explain them plea...

My address books merged successfully, now have a common address book and calendar across iMac, iPhone, IPad all hosted on Owncloud 7 and my B3.

Re: B2 reprovision
Yes, i have held button down while applying power I've tried cutting a new usb key under windows instead of OSX. None of these worked. I then reinstalled the 1TB drive and repeated the process. In about 10 attempts it worked once. So, now I'm reasonably happy that a particular usb key works. So, i s...

Re: B2 reprovision
Well, so far I've tried four USB keys, I've used both USB slots and nothing. Currently, I'm getting one long blue light (2-3 seconds) followed by a short flash and an even shorter flash repeated ad-infinitum. The only thing on each key is the /install subdirectory and it's contents. I'm currently pr...

B2 reprovision
I decided to reuse my B2 to hold a copy of all my B3 data remotely. My B3 has a 2TB HDD and the B2 had a 0.5TB HDD. So, I've carefully removed the old hard drive and installed a 2TB HDD that was installed in another machine (happens to be a Popcornhour - but I hope that was irrelevant). I believe th...

B3 and Owncloud
After the embarrassment of my post last week (where I thought I'd got a failed B3 but it was a GbE port on my switch) I decided to share this weekend's good news. I had Owncloud running on the B3 for a while (see my earlier posts) but it didn't really achieve much and consequently due to lack of tim...

Re: Unable to access B3 - advice please
OK, apologies, I think I found the problem following some additional information from another member of the household. Looks like the outage fried the Gb port on my router that connects to a 16port GbE switch the B3 is on. Moving the switch to a 100Mb port seems to have sorted the problem. The clue ...

Unable to access B3 - advice please
Hi, Sometime today we had a fault on the powerline which resulted in an MCB tripping in my house. I've come home tonight to find I cannot get a response from my B3. I've tried web access, ssh and ping all fail. ping: Request timeout ssh: web: times out on page In desperation I've tried ftp as well, ...

Re: B3 4K sector allignment
I think it would not impact performance on HDDs however if someone is using SSD it could well impact performance, not immediately but over time.

Re: I have been attacked and don't know why.
Ubi, RandomUsername, Gordon, Thank you for the comments, I appreciate the time. Whilst I realise I may have been hacked regardless these were the items I noticed in the last few days that I could not remember seeing before. I doubt there is a huge amount of value on my server other that it's use as ...
