Re: Local torrentfiles
Hi, I've never heard of a site that explicitly say they support Excitos FTD, but limiting the support to specific clients isn't that uncommon (at least not among the private trackers, PB and the like are usually generous). This is actually the most common "BubbaMon problem" I receive quest...

Re: New version of BubbaMon, the firefox extension
Hi Darren, No release yet. Tor and I sent some mails back and forth a while ago and I'm still waiting for information on how to solve the authentication issue. Since they were a couple of weeks away from releasing (then) I decided to redo a larger part of the GUI while waiting. I'm still working on ...

Re: How do you access your music from the outside?
Hi again, Daniel offered me a test drive on his installation before I decided (thanks again), and after a quick run I too decided it was good enough. After some initial problems with the router I've now used it for a day or two and I think it was worth the switch from fireplay. But don't expect a sw...

Re: problem with music
Hi, Instead of using the service script (which redirect output to /dev/null), try start it manually from command line. As root, issue: /usr/sbin/mt-daapd -f -d 1 This will run the program in the foreground, using debug level one. Examine the output, and if this doesn't tell you anything try increasi...

Re: How do you access your music from the outside?
Daniel: I'm looking forward to hear your verdict. I don't need/expect lightning speed, but I will probably not stand it if it's too sluggish. Binkem: I've been using fireflyclient as well but have hade some issues with it too. One of them is that I can't pause the music. Or better put, the music sto...

How do you access your music from the outside?
Hi everyone, I'm interested in knowing how you access your music collection from the outside. I've been using fireplay on my B3, but I'm getting more and more annoyed with it. I can't order music by year (or I haven't figured out how), and more importantly, after some hours of use it starts misbehav...

Re: New version of BubbaMon, the firefox extension
Hi, BubbaMon currently only knows how to identify a B1 or a B2, but the B3 uses same API as B2 so it should work. It will however not work when you test the connection from the configuration window. Note that you still need to make a change in the software, similar to the one mentioned for the B2. T...

Re: kernel with ipsec support
Hi, First of all, I'm no expert in these matters, so I accept no responsibility should you brick your unit, OK :-) You need to apply the patches to the source tree. Easy way out is (make sure your current directory is the "linux-2.6.32.13" one): wget http://download.excito.net/kernel/Bubba...

Re: inotify support
Hi, I haven't tried this, but I suspect you need to install some development package (header files, libraries and stuff). A quick search among available packages reveals there is one named libinotifytools0-dev that might do the trick. Try (as root) aptitude install libinotifytools0-dev to install pa...

Re: Can I make the FTD less verbose in the logs?
Hi, I don't know how to changed verboseness on ftd, but if this is for a B3 then a filter rule for rsyslog might be a better solution. Note that this will only work on a B3, as B2 has a different syslog application. Log on to you bubba and become root. Then create a file /etc/rsyslog.d/ftd.conf cont...

Downloaded torrents owned by root
Hi all, Has anyone else noticed the downloaded files are owned by root? It's the same with B2 and B3. It appear this only happen to torrent downloads, files downloaded using FTP or HTTP are not affected. What's more strange is, the folders (if any) are owned by me, it is only the files that are owne...

Re: rm -rf /etc/apache2/sites-available
Reinstalling the packages "apache2.2-common" and "bubba-frontend" should probably do the trick as well.

Re: Horde using deprecated function?
Hi,
Instead of commenting out the whole line, you could try redirecting the output of the command to /dev/null. That should prevent the mail from being sent.
A downside is you will not be notified of any other (perhaps bigger) problem if they occur.

Re: No temp displayed with BubbaMon!
Hi Harry,
Nice to hear it's working.
You shouldn't need to do an explicit install of hddtemp, but sh*t happens. I had the same problem, hddtemp was missing, and I suspect it was an upgrade that went bad but I'm not sure. I did an explicit installation of hddtemp, and that solved it.
