Re: Easyfind end of service
The easyfind infrastructure has been retired and all data archived. This also include the old excito debian repository as well as the hotfix service. The last two could have been restarted but it's only useful for people reinstalling the old (10 years) excito 2.4 install and it's safe to say that it...

Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 version 1.16 (Gentoo Linux 6.1.12 Stable)
Hello Gordon, I tried to install your 1.16 version on a b3 for tests around kernel developments I'm working on but there was an issue after running install_on_dev_sda.sh ; after rebooting the kernel panicked trying to run systemd as init whereas I used the openrc version of the image. Maybe there is...

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
I had some issues with that as well. Not real sure how that works with Debian though or how you tell it to build the kernel. In my case there appeared to be some conflict with a ported pre-6.x kernel setting that caused init to be killed but to this point I have no clue what setting that might have...

Re: Easyfind end of service
What is the status on this? Are you taking on the offer by @stashek (which is of course a single IP and you should have a secondary backup IP) or will the service be terminated? Thruth it's off for more than 1 month now and no one complained. I saw stasheck's offer but I won't spend time migrating ...

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Thanks for your message. It's a great incentive for me to know people continue using this hardware and the distribution I maintain ! Also I started working on the new debian version (12), I have some issues with the 6.1 kernel which refuses to boot. Nevertheless I still hope I'll be able to make it ...

Yes indeed. Do not hesitate if you miss any feature on the kernel, I can add them and release a new version.

Re: Can't SSH into B3
Yes using a rescue key is the better option here. You can download the latest bullseye installer here : http://install.excito.org/bullseye/latest/b3/ . Unzip it onto a FAT usb drive, and edit the install.ini file to comment or remove the whole [general] section at the end of the file. You can then b...

Re: Easyfind end of service
Well I'm going to shutdown easyfind (disable both myownb3.com and myownb2.com) and see if we get any reactions here.

Re: How to build a kernel for Debian on Excito B3
FYI I created a 6.1 repository and ported the patchset and configuration. It compiles fine but I did not test it yet.

Re: How to build a kernel for Debian on Excito B3
Building custom kernel for the b3's debian system is one area where documentation is ... well absent. It's not overly complicated but I admit I never took the time to write it. Note that the goal is to create a kernel deb package. You can either build this package directly on the b3 (at least 8 hour...

Re: Easyfind end of service
Might be an idea to bring it down for a week or so to prompt these users to come visit here for info on why it is not working? Yes I think about that too and it's a "good" idea, at least to get some feedback. Just out of interest though, what kind of traffic and CPU does this service requ...

Easyfind end of service
Hello everyone, I post this here even if there's not been much traffic these past few months. As you know the current owner of the excito domains and the remaining stock of b3s (~40) (rodeus who has been bought and changed name to B2B Cyber Secure) has decided to stop the easyfind, hotfix and reposi...

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Kernel 5.10.117-1 is uploaded in the repo and available as an update, with intel wifi drivers included.
Do not hesitate to ask for kernel changes and/or upgrades. I cannot automate the build process (because it requires minimal testing) but building a new kernel is not very time consuming on my part.
