there is a socket on motherboard

The motherboard has a socket that I presume is intended to support a wlan card. If so there will also need to be an external antenna, as radio waves dont pass through metal cases very well  (faraday cages block all electromagnetic waves - see the film "enemy of the state" :D )

I suppose the same, but then where is the hole for the antenna ?
I don't see any spare one ;)
So it must be inside, casa is made of alluminum alloy , so it my be that the antenna ;)

To be able to connect over a longer distance an antenna would be useful. I get a notably slower connection two floors up using a regular router/Ap, so using the aluminum case as an antenna might not be a good idea

Ok so wlan will most likely be internal. Then I'll wait until Bubba is available with wlan out of the box. No info from Excito about wlan option??

The wLAN will be internal attached to the PCI port visible on the card. There will be external three antennas, which will be attached to an new back plate.

Nice. Do you have an ETA on the wlan option?

Will it use the N-protocol? or will it only use the G-protocol?

Hi all,

Yes, you are right, internal mini-PCI card, with external antenna(s). We haven't decided on a/b/g or n-draft yet, depends on how well we'll manage to get n-boards working as AP's. The 802.11n standard isn't set yet as you know, so we need to investigate thoroughly how todays n-draft mini-PCI AP's work together with other vendors equipment.

I would really like it to be an N-protocol. Then I would be able to replace my (N)-router, having only one power-using device active 24/7

A well working N device would be preferable. Take your time.

But it would be nice to get an approximate time frame for release. Just to know if I can wait and order all at once.

Can you share any progress regarding the WLAN? An ETA would be great :-D
