Encrypting the whole disk, not only backups

I would like to see easy standard encryption of the whole disk, or at least the /home, /var, /tmp and swap!
This would keep your personal data safe in case of theft.

It is pretty easy to set up. I think there is a how-to on the forum. However, having it set up out of the box would be better.
