LDAP feature

Post by Puma »

Gents,

I would like to have a central adressbook server (LDAP).
Then Thunderbird and other programs are updated centrally and for different persons.

Or has someone a How-to for me for example OPENLDAP?

what are the riscs for Bubba3??

Excito can you add this on the list?? :D

Thanks in advance

There are a zillion howtos on the interwebs. Go to the debian fora to see what to install. If you know how to create a ldap tree, you should know all this :D

OpenLDAP in itself not, but you can get into trouble when you want to use it for authentication on the B3 itself as well. Do you?

well you can just add LDAP as a secondary authentication and not break the B3. If you want to learn LDAP, then go for it. If not, it's a huge overhead for very little benefit if you only have a few users.
