That would be really nice, and I've been thinking about it, but there are a couple of problems to solve before that can happen. The code must comply with a style guide, which it doesn't in some parts, but the biggest problem, I suspect, is the limited user base. I think an official plugin need more users than bubbamon has before they even review the plugin.

I've started to fix the incompatibilities with the style guides, but the user base is trickier. Adding support for another client, transmission for instance, would certainly increase the user base. I'm tempted, but I don't have the time at the moment to do this kind of project.

Great to see that you're improving on it! Style guidelines is very good to follow so you're ready to apply the day you feel like it =)
You could try I guess, but I don't know what view Mozilla has on the "minimum number of targeted users".

I tried installing it on Firefox 9 (the latest at that time, I actually installed Firefox 10 today) but the plugin said it wasn't supported...

It works fine on FF 10. There are numerous ways to disable FF's extension compatibility checking if you google it.
