Release notes for BUBBA|TWO 1.2.1
This is a new minor upgrade to the Bubba|TWO 1.2 release mainly containing bug fixes.

Upgrade
To upgrade a running system, make sure you don't have any activities running such as uploads, downloads, print jobs etc. Then log in as admin in web-ui. Choose "settings" menu entry. Choose "Update" in the sub menu. Press the "Update" button.

Since this upgrade contains a new kernel a reboot of Bubba|TWO after upgrade is adviced.

New features
The 1.2.1 release includes a couple of minor new features.
  • Format disks from web-ui
  • Added functionality for removing failed disks in RAID array.
  • Added, user optional, hotfix system to allow easier recover of faulty systems.
Enhancements
  • Improved AFP integration.
    • Should now automatically show up in network/finder.
    • A guest share is added to match samba functionality.
    • Download manager updated to better work with torrents added over AFP
  • Raid, increased status reporting in raid status
  • Improved updater to detect inconsistent systems.
Other

Numerous bugfixes and UI cleanups.

[edit] Fixed version information.

Today i tries the update button in the admin interface but this went wrong:

did some more checking...

did aptget update upgrade again and saw that two items were not installed:

bubba-backend and bubba-diskmanager

The first reboot was done with:sync sync reboot...
The last reboot was done from the shutdown in the admin menu, and restart using the buttun.
After the last restart i had to manually start the admin-interface using:
/etc/init.d/bubba-adminphp start afster that the admin pages were accessable again, the update page still has the error.

Can you manually try to install bubba-backend and the diskmanager?
What errors are given?

bubba2:/home/ahoff# apt-get install bubba-backend
lagts in från "Incoming".

E: Trasiga paket

When you guys release new patches, particularly to the Apache server, can you please not over-ride configs without some kind of prompt. Its a bit annoying to have to keep re-installing my virtual servers from backup everytime you patch

That's strange; can you try installing libparse-debcontrol-perl and see what's bugging it?

bubba2:/home/ahoff# apt-get install libparse-debcontrol-perl

Can you check your apt.source, type "apt-cache policy", it should shown similar like:

Code: Select all

bubba:/home/test# apt-cache policy
Package files:
 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     release a=now
 500 http://ftp.se.debian.org etch/main Packages
     release v=4.0r8,o=Debian,a=oldstable,l=Debian,c=main
     origin ftp.se.debian.org
 600 http://update.excito.org upstream_etch/main Packages
     release v=1.0,o=Debian Etch,a=upstream_stable,l=Debian Etch subset,c=main
     origin update.excito.org
 999 http://update.excito.org marielle/main Packages
     release v=1.0,o=Excito,a=stable,l=BubbaTwo stable,c=main
     origin update.excito.org
Pinned packages:

I second that. The default website configuration is also totally insecure. I didn't notice the apache config had been over-wrttien last upgrade until Google started putting up directory listings of private files from my web server.

However, I think the best way to solve this is to have the bubba web gui configuration and personal web root configuration in different configuration files and adding a new link to the 'available-sites' and 'enabled-sites' directories of apache.
