This is a new major upgrade. The upgrade is available only as a web update, for Excito B2 and B3.

How to upgrade
To upgrade a running system, make sure you don't have any activities running such as uploads, downloads, print jobs etc. Then log in as admin in web-ui. Choose "Settings" menu entry. Choose "Software update" in the sub menu.

New features and major changes
* Added support for Apple TimeMachine
* Added support for Apple AirPrint
* Showing HD temperature on b3/admin page
* Allowing special characters in passwords
* Improved translations for German and Swedish
* Added ecryptfs support to kernel
* Ssl security fix
* 10+ minor bug fixes

[Edit 120607]: Now released also for B2.

Hi Johannes,

is the bug fixed in the backup, where older .info files aren't cleaned up?

I know it is not a deal breaker, but it is annoying, because you'll see backup entries which aren't there anymore and can't be restored.

Regards,

Albert

No, this is scheduled for 2.5.1 which we are working on now. However there is a workaround meanwhile, you can manually enter cups (b3:631) and set the printer to RAW mode, which will allow you to use a driver on your pc instead.

Strange, can't explain this without logging in to check. Please contact support if you can't get it working.

Correct, it was actually included already in the 2.4.2 kernel release. However the feature was scheduled for 2.5 so testing didn't happen until now.

My USB printer is working fine. It's a HP Deskjet.

To clarify, the only printers not working plug-and-play right now are the ones who lack Linux drivers (afaik only Samsung low-cost printers). Workaround exists though, and fix is planned.

I updated to B3 version 2.5 which is fine except that the photo album doesn't open any more.

I have done "Restrict admin access to LAN" which blocked the album from showing in LAN but allowed it to be seen from the web. Now with B3 version 2.5 it is "access denied" to album from LAN, and no album to be seen from the web, the page is there but no pictures.

How can I fix this?

I recommend you forget it and try ownCloud. It has a lot of great cloud server features and a brilliant photo album with proper user access controls (including over file and music sharing). For me the B3 photo albumn is hardly worth having.
