Finding the bubba

Just got my bubba this afternoon. My problem is when I connect it to my switch I can't find it. http://bubba doesn't work and neither does 192.168.0.242.
Probably it's been assigned a public ip but how can I find out which, I've tried only connecting my computer and the bubba to the switch and set my computer ip to 192.168.0.145 but I still couldn't find it.
Please help
Update: Nevermind, suddenly it worked.
