Multiple Email Domains Error

Post by innersphere »

Hi,

I have tried to set up Bubba to work with multiple domains - e.g. abc.co.uk and cba.co.uk and cba.com

I have entered these into the 'Received' page on the Bubba admin with a space inbetween each as suggested.

I am getting the following error when trying to reload postfix:
bubba:/home/gison# postfix reload
postfix: warning: valid_hostname: invalid character 32(decimal): bubba.abc.co.uk cba.co.uk cba.com
postfix: fatal: file /etc/postfix/main.cf: parameter myhostname: bad parameter value: bubba.abc.co.uk cba.co.uk cba.com
Please help :)

Thanks,
Graeme

I think this is what you want to do:

http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#mydestination

In other words the name you are trying to change is the name of your server "myhostname", not the domains you want to receive mail from.

Fzzzt *brain fried*

What I am trying to do is receive email for 2 additional domains, 3 in total - i.e.

abc.co.uk
cba.co.uk
cba.com

When I only have one in the Receiving list, it works fine. When I put in all 3, with spaces - as suggested - it breaks.

Why on earth would I want to change my server name?

PPS - if you haven't seen my earlier posts, my postfix (or any other Linux) guruness would be rated at about a 0.1/10 :P

Nice question!
I checked the postfix file and it's documentation, but I'm not sure how to do it either.... Maybe some guru here will help us with an embarassing simple trick to do it?

Hi,

There is a bug on our side when trying to handle mail for multiple domains.

Please see this thread http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?t=286 on how to manually resolve the issue.

Thanks for the help all :)

Sorry TN if I seemed rude, but I was just confused is all - I didn't understand the problem, so therefore the solution made no sense - lol! :D

I am not sure I fully understand the example given either, but I have found another workaround for now - forwarding all mail from the other domains to my main one. :P

Thanks again,
Graeme
