Please lets start a Wiki to collect all the great knowledge

Hi,
I think it would be good to start early with a wiki, before all the good knowledge gets burried in thousends of forum messages. Great examples are Wikis like http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/
Its user maintained...

+1, was going to suggest this myself.

A lot of the posts in the How-To forum are only half finished and have replies that are not followed up. A wiki would be a much better format for that kind of thing and would allow collaboration and would help to keep information up-to-date.

Afterthought - also, I bet a lot of people buy a Bubba who haven't even heard of Linux and a lot of the How-Tos seem to assume a certain level of prior knowledge. They could do with being rewritten to require zero knowledge as instructions should always be aimed at the lowest common denominator. Not only that, but I know my way around Linux pretty well and even I appreciate some step-by-step hand holding sometimes.

This is a very good idea, we have had that on our list for a while now. We'll try to get this moving asap.

Lets try!

http://bubba.wikia.com/wiki/BubbaServer ... _Community

My first real wiki addition will be howto make AFP work with OSX TimeMachine in BubbaServer (1) sarge (clean usb-stick install).

I also found this post about "Howto (re)install the Bubba-server", I may include that in my experiment also.

I'll start adding to the wiki when Excito keeps its promises and releases the Lenny update for Bubba Server!

if you'd read that thread yourself, you'll see that your own colleague says that there is no predicted final date. ANd we've been hearing promises since march that the final will arrive soon. Look, I'll do my best in regression testing the updates, but I'll believe the update when I see it.

Yes, but I spoke to Tor yesterday and I know that it is close, just wanted to say that. Also you should know that we really appreciate the work you put in by helping us, both on the forum and on other stuff. Hope we can pay you back somehow.

What are you referring to? The wiki idea? It's been done if you read a few posts up from yours.
