Remote backup - magazine article

Post by johannes »

An article series on how to make a remote, distributed backup over several Bubba servers, in the swedish magazine "Elektronik i Norden". They plan to use Duplicity, SSH and Bittorent to make a quite clever backup system where users regularly back up each others data, fully encrypted.

The first article, an overview of the functionality, can be read here:
http://www.excito.org/files/Fjarrbackup ... 07_s53.pdf

The entire magazine available here:

Unfortunately only available in Swedish. :(

I'll update with the follow-ups when released!

From your description this sounds like a very cool project indeed!!

Unfortunately a Swedish article won't really help me understand what exactly they're doing... :(

Regards,
Christoph

Yes, I know, it's too bad. I am not able to copy the text, otherwise i'd try babelfishing it. Not that I think it would help though.

This article is just an overview and some smalltalk, when they go down to the really interesting stuff we'll try to post the essence of it here.
