Excito HTPC

Post by supermagnum »

I have a idea for a HTPC made by Exito:

case:
Antec Fusion HTPC Remote ( it is compatible with linux )

power supply:
Mini atx, 250 to 400W

output/input
USB 3.0 2x
10/ 100/ 1000Mbps Ethernet
eSATA 2x

Outputs:
stereo
surround
HDMI
S-video
Digital Visual Interface (DVI)
VGA
optical

CPU:
Quad Core, 3.0Ghz

RAM:
DDR3 1333MHz 4GB minimum

disc:
Western Digitial Caviar® Green 500 to 1,5TB SATA

Capture Card:
WinTV-HVR-2250, http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/ ... r2250.html
or
WinTV-HVR-1200 ,http://www.hauppauge.com.sg/site/produc ... mckit.html
These cards are supported in linux.

IR transmitter/receiver :
an IR transmitter with enough output power, to control the channels on a cable TV set-top box or satellite receiver.
A IR receiver to "learn" the commands of different IR remote controllers.
LIRC should handle this fine.

low noise fans with PWM speed control.

OS:
Debian Squeeze with MythTV
Mythbuntu http://mythbuntu.org/
or a variant of the system currently used by Excito.

To my knowledge, there are no HTPC's made in Europe that runs linux.

Any comments ?

Then I would like to see them build it on Fit-PC3 but I guess this doesn't fit their business model (at this time?).

Building a HTPC 2011 on ATX hardware is IMO overkill. And XBMC is what I want to run on my HTPC :)
