Odbc connection mysql with java

hi i have 2 systems both are connected through lan.i need to access the database of system1 in system2 using odbc connector.i tried by giving ip address of system1 but i did not succeed so guide me the way which leads me to access the database of system1 in system2.

Are you sure this is a Bubba problem?
